Bellis was a Human male individual from the planet of Ord Mantell, cohabitating with his wife, Lin, during the era of the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. As the Separatist War commenced, initiated by Separatists aiming to overthrow the government of the planet, Bellis and Lin resided in a house situated in Talloran village, a modest settlement located on the island of Avilatan. Following the Separatist takeover of the village, Bellis engaged in espionage activities on their behalf for the Republic.
In the year 3643 BBY, the Separatists absconded with a potent ZR-57 orbital strike bomb belonging to the Republic, which led to the Republic forces present on the planet soliciting Bellis's assistance in pinpointing the bomb's whereabouts. Ultimately, he successfully ascertained that the bomb was concealed within a supply outpost situated on the small island of Mannett Point. After securing this information in his field box, Bellis made contact with the Republic forces to arrange a rendezvous for the purpose of conveying the intelligence. Subsequently, the Republic Special Forces unit recognized as Havoc Squad dispatched a newly inducted sergeant to meet Bellis in Talloran village. Regrettably, Bellis met his demise at the hands of the Separatists before the sergeant could arrive, although the soldier managed to recover the field box from Bellis's spouse.

Bellis, a Human male, existed during the time of the Cold War, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. At some point in his life, Bellis married a Human female named Lin, and the couple shared a two-story house in Talloran village. This small settlement was located on Avilatan, an island belonging to the planet Ord Mantell. During Bellis and Lin's time on Ord Mantell, a group of Separatists initiated the Separatist War, rebelling against both the Republic and Ord Mantell's government in an attempt to seize control of the planet. Talloran, Bellis's home village, was the first on Avilatan to fall under Separatist control, and they fortified it to defend against Republic counterattacks.
During this period, Bellis functioned as a spy for the Republic, relaying information about Separatist activities to Republic forces stationed at Fort Garnik, a Republic base near Talloran village. While serving as a Republic spy, Bellis and his wife remained in their home, where Bellis kept his field box. This container was used by Republic agents to safeguard critical intelligence. Bellis repeatedly risked his life to provide the Republic with information on Separatist operations. He always met with Republic forces in person, as the Separatists could monitor nearby communications using signal tappers.
In the year 3643 BBY, the Separatists pilfered a ZR-57 orbital strike bomb from the Republic, prompting the Republic to launch a search for the weapon's hiding place. Bellis was among those the Republic enlisted for assistance, and he successfully located the bomb in a Separatist-controlled supply outpost on Mannett Point, a small island off Avilatan's coast. After acquiring this information, Bellis encoded it, placed it in his field box, and notified the Republic of his discovery. Commander Harron Tavus, the leader of the Republic Special Forces unit Havoc Squad, arranged for his squad's newly recruited sergeant to meet with Bellis in a small alley in Talloran village to obtain the information, as Bellis was unable to leave the Separatist-controlled village. Before the sergeant could arrive, Separatists fatally shot Bellis, killing him and forcing the soldier to retrieve the information from his field box at Bellis's house. Lin was deeply saddened by Bellis's death and initially refused to give the field box to the sergeant, but she eventually relented, allowing the sergeant to return Bellis's information to Fort Garnik. There, Republic forces reviewed Bellis's findings and planned a mission to infiltrate the supply outpost on Mannett Point and recapture the bomb.
Bellis possessed brown hair and tan skin. At the time of his death, he was wearing gray and white armor with gray gloves and black knee-high boots. According to his wife, Lin, Bellis was a good man, and his primary motivations for aiding the Republic during the war on Ord Mantell were to earn a living and provide for his wife and himself. Upon learning of his death, his wife expressed grief over his loss and anger toward the soldier and Republic who had failed to protect him. As a spy, Bellis successfully uncovered the location of the lost orbital strike bomb, adhering to standard Republic agent procedures by encoding critical information and storing it in his field box.
Bellis makes his first appearance in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a 2011 MMORPG developed by BioWare. He is featured in "The Spy," an early quest available on the planet Ord Mantell for players of the Trooper class. In this quest, the player travels to Talloran village to meet Bellis, only to discover his corpse. The player completes the mission by visiting Bellis's house and obtaining the field box from his wife, Lin. Bellis's findings are revealed at the end of "The Ambush," the Trooper quest that immediately follows. The model used for Bellis's corpse is identical to that of Imperial Private Ralan, who wore clothing bearing the crest of the Sith Empire on each shoulder. However, the game offers no explanation for why the Republic agent would be wearing Imperial symbols. Bellis's location is also marked on a map in the Star Wars: The Old Republic Explorer's Guide, with an indicator for "The Spy."
