Brennonn

Brennonn, a female Wookiee native to Kashyyyk, forged a friendship with Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. Their bond began when Jinn was still a Jedi Padawan, sometime between 68 BBY and approximately 58 BBY. Their shared experiences included Brennonn saving Jinn's life more than once. Around 41 BBY, a Life Day celebration brought Brennonn together with Jinn and his own Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi; however, the festivities were disrupted by a band of Trandoshan hunters. While Brennonn successfully defended herself against one hunter, Jinn and several other Wookiees were taken captive. Brennonn and Kenobi then collaborated to rescue Jinn, after which the three rejoined the Life Day celebration.

Biography

Brennonn's initial encounter with Qui-Gon Jinn occurred when he was in his Padawan apprenticeship, an event that took place somewhere between 68 BBY and roughly 58 BBY. They embarked on various adventures together, during which Brennonn twice rescued the Padawan. Jinn, however, maintained that they had saved each other during the second incident.

Approximately around 41 BBY, Jedi Master Jinn introduced Brennonn to his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, at a Life Day gathering on the planet Kashyyyk. Jinn expressed his gratitude to Brennonn for allowing him and Kenobi to partake in the Life Day celebration, but he was concerned about the disappearance of Balfus. While Jinn was contemplating the circumstances surrounding Balfus's disappearance, Trandoshans attacked the Wookiee celebration, capturing attendees for their hunt. Brennonn defended herself against the hunters, throwing one Trandoshan away. When another aimed a blaster at Brennonn, Jinn used his lightsaber to destroy the weapon but was subsequently captured.

Brennonn and Kenobi discussed strategies to free Jinn and the other captured Wookiees. Kenobi requested Brennonn to elucidate how the situation was connected to the teachings of her elders. After Kenobi understood the connection to a previous lesson from Jinn, he devised a plan. Kenobi purposefully surrendered to the Trandoshans, using himself as a diversion to unlock Jinn's prison using the Force. After Jinn's liberation, Brennonn and a group of Wookiees ambushed the Trandoshans, surrounding them. Brennonn proposed a peaceful resolution to the conflict, asking the hunters to relinquish their weapons.

Later, upon Jinn and Kenobi's return to the Life Day celebrations, Brennonn greeted the two Jedi with an embrace. Jinn assured Brennonn that gratitude was unnecessary and that she would have done the same for him. As Brennonn departed from the two, Jinn assured her they would join her.
