Candovant, located along the Hydian Way within the Colonies region of the galaxy, served as the native world to the Candovantan species and was classified as a planet. Following the Battle of Endor which occurred in 4 ABY, the Galactic Empire selected Candovant to be targeted as a component of Operation: Cinder, aiming to obliterate the planet following the death of Emperor Palpatine. Imperial fleets brought about widespread destruction of civilizations on the planet. Three decades subsequent to the Battle of Endor, Candovant held membership within the New Republic, with Zygli Bruss acting as its representative in the Galactic Senate.
The initial mention of Candovant occurred in the comic Shattered Empire 4, which was penned by Greg Rucka, with illustrations by Marco Checchetto, and made available to the public on October 21, 2015.
