Canduri was a Human female who pledged her allegiance to the Believers, a Sith cult. Her service occurred during the Clone Wars era. In the year 21 BBY, Canduri found herself stationed at a Believer laboratory situated on the planet of Genarius. At this location, the cultists were in the process of creating a virus designed to be fatal to the Caarite species. Following a raid on the laboratory by soldiers from the Metatheran Cartel, a trading organization dominated by Caarites, Canduri made her escape. However, she was subsequently captured by a band of freelance agents investigating the Believer activities on Genarius.
During the final years of the Galactic Republic, a Human female scoundrel named Canduri lived, and by the time of the Clone Wars she was a young woman. She became a member of the Believers, a Sith-worshipping cult. Around 21 BBY, Canduri received an assignment to a hidden Believers laboratory located on S-Ipsus, a manufacturing station on the planet Genarius within the Cularin system. At this S-Ipsus Believer facility, the cultists were engaged in an operation to engineer a virus with the intention of making it fatal to the Caarite species. Canduri possessed limited knowledge regarding the Believers' broader plans for the contagion. After the Metatheran Cartel, a trading entity primarily controlled by Caarites, discovered the Believer base, a group of Cartel soldiers launched a raid on the facility, forcing Canduri to flee.
While in possession of a vial containing a sample of the anti-Caarite virus, Canduri made her exit from the concealed base through a hatch located on the installation's roof, emerging onto a production line for thermal detonators. Almost immediately, she encountered the heroes of Cularin, a team of freelance agents who were investigating the Believer presence on S-Ipsus. They stood 130 meters away from Canduri as she exited the Believer facility, effectively blocking her intended escape route. In an attempt to circumvent the freelance agents, Canduri discharged a blaster pistol at the activation mechanism for the detonator production line's security system, hoping that the security defenses would activate and eliminate the operatives. With the factory's blaster cannons firing, Canduri fled down the production line, but the heroes of Cularin eventually apprehended her.
Following her capture, Canduri was hesitant to share any information with the freelance agents. The heroes of Cularin escorted her back to the Believer laboratory to investigate the base, and the Cartel soldiers offered to pay each of the operatives 300 credits for her purchase. The Cartel troops had planned to take one of the Believers present at the facility as a prisoner for further interrogation, and Canduri was the only member of the laboratory's staff to survive the attack; the soldiers therefore considered it imperative that they gain custody of Canduri. The agents declined to surrender the Believer over to the Cartel and departed the laboratory with her.
As the freelance agents tried to depart the S-Ipsus factory accompanied by Canduri, they were intercepted by a patrol from the Thaereian military, an armed force enfranchised to defend the Cularin system. Led by the Bothan Lieutenant Mish Paht, the Thaereians demanded that Canduri be turned over to them to serve as evidence of the Believers' operations on Genarius. The heroes of Cularin refused to hand over their prisoner to the Thaereians, and shortly thereafter, the agents were ambushed by battle droids that had been reprogrammed by the assassin Melo Centris to target them. In the midst of the conflict, Canduri attempted to escape, but the operatives quickly recaptured her. Subsequently, the heroes of Cularin transported the Believer off of Genarius and placed her in the custody of the Cularin Militia, a military organization operating on the planet Cularin. Over the following days, Canduri was questioned by her captors regarding her knowledge of the Believers' plans for the anti-Caarite virus.
Canduri suffered from mental instability, which manifested as a desire to eliminate all Caarites, a yearning to govern the galaxy, and a deep-seated hatred for the Jedi, a well-known order of Force users. While she was devoted to the Believers, she was unwilling to sacrifice her life for the Sith cult's cause. Despite not being Force sensitive, Canduri was convinced that she possessed Force powers and would make futile gestures with her hands during combat situations in an attempt to use Force grip against her adversaries. She had dark hair and was multi-lingual, speaking Basic fluently, along with Bothan, Caarite, and Rodian.
Canduri made her debut in Open Aarms, a Star Wars Legends roleplaying adventure created by Morrie Mullins and released in 2003. This adventure served as the second part of the Metatheran Caution trilogy within RPGA's Living Force roleplaying campaign. She was later mentioned in Belly of the Beaast, the final module of the Metatheran Caution trilogy.
In Open Aarms, players take on the roles of the heroes of Cularin, and the adventure's outcome is determined by their actions and choices. It is possible for Canduri to be either captured or killed by the freelance agents during their encounter as she flees the S-Ipsus Believers laboratory. The adventure suggests that if Canduri is killed, a new Believer character should be introduced into the adventure and captured by the player characters to fulfill the role originally intended for Canduri.
There are also several possible scenarios regarding Canduri's fate after her capture. One possibility is that the player characters hand her over to the Metatheran Cartel soldiers who raided the Believer laboratory. In this case, the troops offer 300 credits to each of the freelance agents in exchange for her, but a higher purchase price of up to 500 credits can be negotiated. Alternatively, Canduri could be seized by the Thaereian patrol led by Lieutenant Mish Paht, or the player characters could voluntarily surrender her to the Thaereians. When the freelance agents are attacked by droids reprogrammed by Melo Centris, Canduri attempts to escape, and if she succeeds, she is then captured by the Metatheran Cartel soldiers and taken away.
If the player characters still have Canduri in their custody after leaving S-Ipsus, they have several options for whom to hand her over to. They could surrender her to the Jedi Order, in which case Jedi Master Lanius Qel-Bertuk takes custody of her. Qel-Bertuk intends to have the Jedi question her and places her in the care of the Cularin Militia. Alternatively, the freelance agents could hand Canduri over to the Cularin Militia directly. Another option is to take her to a group of researchers studying the anti-Caarite virus at a research facility orbiting S-Ipsus, although the research team are reluctant to take her and suggest that the freelance agents hand her over to the Cularin Militia or the Office of Peace and Security law enforcement agency instead. Another possibility is that the player characters take Canduri to the crime lord Nirama; Nirama is resistant to accepting the captive Believer, and if the player characters insist on him taking her, he accepts her and arranges for her to be transferred somewhere more appropriate. In Belly of the Beaast, it is noted that if Canduri was captured during the events of Open Aarms, she was subsequently questioned by her captors for information concerning the virus.
