Sketto
Skettos, also known as cave skettos, were a species of savage, flying pests that lacked sentience and were native to the desert planet of Tatooine. These species could grow up to a meter in size and were characterized by four strong legs, a grasping tail, four wings, a mouth filled with sharp fangs, and eyes adapted for excellent vision in the dark. To avoid Tatooine's twin suns, they would hide during the day, only to emerge in large numbers at night to feed on smaller flying creatures and consume the blood of larger animals while they slept. While raw sketto meat was toxic to humans, it could be cooked and prepared as meatballs, a key ingredient in Sketto Chuga, a popular street food on Tatooine.
In 32 BBY, at least one group of skettos made their home in Tatooine's Laguna Caves. During the Boonta Eve Classic podrace, an explosion caused by Ratts Tyerell, a podracer whose podracer crashed into a stone pillar, forced the creatures to flee from one of the cave's exits to escape his accident.
Around 34 ABY, Dok-Ondar possessed a stuffed sketto specimen at his store on Batuu, which he had acquired from a bounty hunter.
