The central lab, a highly secured laboratory at Tantiss Base, served as the research domain of Nala Se, the Kaminoan cloning expert. Her focus was on investigating the incorporation of m-count into the blood of clone troopers. The lab was supported by numerous medical droids and RA-7 protocol droids, along with Nala Se's assistant, Omega, a genetically defective clone. To ensure isolation, the lab was connected to the rest of the base via an antechamber. This antechamber only permitted one person to enter at a time after a security scan. Furthermore, two Imperial clone commandos guarded the entrance to the antechamber.
Within the laboratory, a board was available for the droids to conduct experiments, and several computers were mounted on the walls. However, the primary analysis occurred within a large centrifuge machine. This machine scanned samples taken from the clones imprisoned in the facility to generate a genetic profile. It then enriched these profiles with blood rich in m-count and rotated them in a clock-like manner to facilitate merging. Subsequently, the machine would scan the enriched blood and display the integration results on a screen. During her time at the facility, Nala Se regularly destroyed Omega's blood samples in a unit located beneath the machine. However, when Galactic Emperor Palpatine toured the facility, Emerie Karr, acting as an assistant, was assigned to oversee the room. She used the machine to discover that the defective clone's blood showed promising results for the experiment. Nala Se ultimately destroyed the room, along with the Project Necromancer data it contained, using a thermal detonator during the skirmish on Wayland. This action was taken to prevent the Empire from exploiting her research to pursue Omega. Although Edmon Rampart killed her after questioning her about the details of Project Necromancer, the detonator had already been activated and detonated, killing him as well. Because of this, no data could be recovered from the wreckage, and Governor Wilhuff Tarkin ordered Project Necromancer to be put on hold.
