Sheathipede-class Type B shuttle

The Sheathipede-class Type B shuttle, alternatively referred to as the Class Type B shuttle, represented a specific model of cargo shuttle. It was produced by the Haor Chall Engineering Corporation and saw utilization by the Confederacy of Independent Systems throughout the duration of the Clone Wars. The Galactic Republic managed to seize possession of at least one such vessel.

History

In the vicinity of 20 BBY, Shuttle 81572 was deployed by a Jedi task force, spearheaded by Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and clone trooper officers Captain Rex and Commander Cody, for the purpose of rescuing Jedi Master Even Piell. Piell was being held as a prisoner within the confines of the Citadel situated on Lola Sayu. Despite the mission's success in extracting Piell, the shuttle was ultimately obliterated by BX-series droid commandos who were operating defensive turrets.

Subsequently, Count Dooku, accompanied by bounty hunters under the leadership of Cad Bane, Moralo Eval, and Obi-Wan Kenobi disguised as Rako Hardeen, made use of another escort shuttle to travel to Naboo. Their objective was to abduct Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. However, it was uncovered that the bounty hunters were merely a ruse designed to divert Republic forces, while Dooku schemed to draw Anakin and Palpatine into the dining chamber. Although Anakin successfully thwarted the scheme, Dooku employed the shuttle as a means of escaping Naboo once again.

Numerous Type B escort shuttles were stationed within a Dual Hemisphere-Omni Support Vessel, which was infiltrated by Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker during their endeavor to retrieve the kyber crystal. Nevertheless, Obi-Wan Kenobi opted to destroy the crystal, resulting in the destruction of the shuttles. Both Jedi then fled, accompanied by General Grievous.
