Clone jetpack trooper
Clone jet troopers, also known as clone jetpack troopers, represented a specialized division of clone troopers trained specifically for combat in the skies, typically utilizing the JT-12 jetpack. Their standard weaponry consisted of BlasTech manufactured DC-15A blaster rifles and DC-15A blaster carbines, as well as DC-17 hand blasters, and they also carried missile launchers with Smart Rockets. These clone jetpack troopers saw action in battles such as the First Battle of Geonosis, the Battle of Cato Neimoidia, and the Battle of Anaxes. Within the ranks of the 501st Legion were jetpack troopers, who could be identified by the blue markings on their armor, which indicated their unit affiliation. After Order 66 was carried out and the Republic was transformed into the Empire, the clone troopers were gradually replaced by stormtroopers, leading to the Jumptroopers superseding the jetpack troopers.
History
At least one trooper equipped with a jetpack and created through cloning was involved in the First Battle of Geonosis, which marked the beginning of the Clone Wars against the forces of the Separatist Droid Army.
A squad comprised of jet troopers from the 501st participated in the Battle of Cato Neimoidia. Subsequently, jetpack troopers hailing from both the 501st and the 7th Sky Corps fought in the Battle of Anaxes. Jump troopers from the 501st were also present at the Battle of Yerbana, where they assisted the 212th Attack Battalion. During the Battle of Coruscant, the final major Separatist offensive of the Clone Wars, jetpack troopers wearing vacuum suits boarded enemy starships to seize control of their bridges.
Behind the scenes
The clone jetpack troopers made their debut in "Sabotage," the seventeenth episode from season five of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Their identification was later confirmed in the 2017 reference book titled Star Wars: On the Front Lines.
