Colton (FarStar crewmember)

Petty Officer Colton was a crew member on the CR90 corvette known as the FarStar, participating in the pursuit of Moff Kentor Sarne. As one of a small number of regular navy personnel assigned to the vessel, he frequently worked in the ship's communication center. Following the discovery of hidden computer backdoors within the FarStar's systems, he communicated the results of a system-wide scan to Captain Kaiya Adrimetrum. During this mission, Colton achieved a promotion to the rank of ensign.

Colton was involved in an argument with Krudar, the Duros gunner, during the FarStar's conflict with the Qektoth Confederation and the crew's subsequent exposure to a biochemical agent.

Biography

A Human male, Colton served with the New Republic Defense Fleet in 8 ABY. He was part of the task force responsible for the successful liberation of the planet Kal'Shebbol from the forces under the command of Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. During that battle, Sarne managed to escape Kal'Shebbol along with the bulk of his forces, retreating into the uncharted areas of the Kathol sector. The New Republic then sanctioned a mission to locate Sarne and neutralize the threat he posed to the region. Colton, holding the rank of petty officer, was assigned to the FarStar, a refitted CR90 corvette chosen for the task. Due to limited personnel, Colton was one of the few regular naval officers aboard the ship; many of the crew were civilians recruited from the Kal'Shebbol population. After several weeks into the mission, Colton delivered a report to Captain Kaiya Adrimetrum, the commander of the FarStar. The crew had recently discovered that the vessel, previously part of Moff Sarne's fleet and captured during the New Republic's victory at Kal'Shebbol, had been equipped with hidden traps on Sarne's orders. Following the successful activation of one of these traps by a Sarne agent, which resulted in the destruction of the hyperdrive engines, the FarStar was compelled to travel to the Tanquilla Beach shadowport for repairs. The investigation into the sabotage revealed its cause, and Spang, a local engineer, advised that the FarStar travel to the planet Pembric II to consult with Breslin Drake, who might be able to direct the crew to someone capable of deactivating the hidden programming without triggering them. During the voyage to Pembric II, the crew of the FarStar conducted five sweeps of the ship, discovering three additional traps: two within the life support systems and one in communications. Colton then relayed the recommendations of Sergeant Lofryyhn, the FarStar's chief engineer, to Captain Adrimetrum. Lofryyhn's advice was that no attempt should be made to disable the traps without fully understanding their nature, and that the FarStar should remain in place until all ship systems had been thoroughly checked. Adrimetrum instructed Colton to inform Lofryyhn that the situation would be addressed soon.
