The cru represented a species characterized by diminutive, winged beings. Notably, their noses and ears were disproportionately large in comparison to their overall dimensions. Prominent, sharp teeth protruded from their mouths. During the era of the High Republic Era, a male individual named Cham Cham served as the cherished companion to Zeen Mrala, who was attuned to the Force-sensitive.

These cru exhibited small statures, adorned with brown skin and black eyes. Their dietary habits classified them as carnivorous, equipped with pointed teeth, some of which were visibly protruding. Their large ears and nose were conspicuous features relative to their body size. Distinct black stripes marked the back of their heads. Furthermore, cru possessed jagged wings, facilitating aerial movement. Each wing featured a sharp claw positioned at its apex. A long brown tail, proportional to their size, was also a defining characteristic. Each foot of a cru bore two toes. Following a meal, cru were known to enter a state of asleep.
In the year 232 BBY, a cru known as Cham Cham belonged to Zeen Mrala, a Force-sensitive individual. Cham Cham was present alongside Zeen during an attack orchestrated by the Nihil on the planet of Trymant IV. Amidst the chaos, Grand Master Yoda ingeniously utilized Cham Cham's abilities to pinpoint the location of Zeen's associate, Krix Kamerat.
Wild Cru could be encountered inhabiting the moon of Nar Shaddaa.
The initial depiction of the cru occurred in The High Republic Adventures (2021) 1, a work penned by Daniel José Older, with Rebecca Nalty contributing as the colorist.
