CX-1

CX-1, also identified as Sniper CloneX, served the Galactic Empire as a Clone X trooper during the opening years of the Imperial Era. In 18 BBY, his failed assassination attempt on Senator Avi Singh led to his capture by the Clone Underground. Because the Underground prevented CX-1 from taking his own life, another clone assassin, CX-2, was sent to their Teth based location to eliminate CX-1. The assassin's mission was successful, resulting in CX-1's death.

Biography

CX-1 started as a standard clone trooper, but the Galactic Empire eventually detained him and forced him into the experimental Clone X trooper division under the control of Doctor Royce Hemlock's deep undercover program. His mind was erased, and he was trained to be a fanatically loyal clone assassin. By 18 BBY, he was activated and sent to the planet Pantora to assassinate former Separatist senator Avi Singh. Singh was meeting with Imperial senator Riyo Chuchi to discuss a potential rebellion against the Empire. A group of rogue clones from Rex's Clone Underground network were protecting the two senators. CX-1 infiltrated the Pantoran tea parlor where the meeting was taking place. He quickly choked a rogue clone guarding the kitchen, then set up his rifle and aimed at Singh. Rex interfered at the last moment, and the assassin threw a thermal detonator into the room to cover his escape. He climbed a maintenance tower, where Howzer stunned him unconscious.

CX-1 was taken to the Clone Underground's base on Teth, where they removed his suicide shocker to prevent him from using it. Howzer and Rex tried to interrogate CX-1 when he woke up, but he refused to speak. After decrypting a data puck from CX-1's gear, the rogue clones discovered that the young female clone Omega was also a target. They contacted Clone Force 99 to inform them of this. When the rogue commandos arrived, CX-1 noticed Crosshair, who had previously been in the Clone X trooper division but failed due to his defective nature. CX-1 suggested that Crosshair be interrogated and stated that the Empire would come for the Clone Underground. As the rogue clones attempted to leave the room, CX-2, another clone assassin sent to eliminate CX-1 for his failure, infiltrated the facility and shot CX-1 with a blaster, killing him instantly. Clone Commander Wolffe’s strike team later found his body and two Clone Stormtroopers carried it out of the makeshift prison cell.

Personality and traits

CX-1, a genetic clone of the famous bounty hunter Jango Fett, shared the same basic physical characteristics. He was a human male, 1.83 meters tall, with tan-colored skin, black hair, and brown eyes.

As a clone assassin, CX-1 was conditioned to be fanatically loyal to the Galactic Empire. After his capture, he refused to give any information about his mission and remained silent, even when Rex insisted he could be helped. Upon recognizing Crosshair, he suggested that the rogue sharpshooter be interrogated and mocked the idea of the Empire destroying the Clone Underground.

Equipment

CX-1, as a clone assassin, wore specialized black armor. He carried a 773 Firepuncher sniper rifle and had a suicide shocker implanted in his teeth, which the Clone Underground removed to prevent him from killing himself. CX-1 also carried a backpack with magnetic thermal detonators and a datapuck.
