Biography

Early life

During the time known as the Republic Era, Avi Singh served as a senator within the Galactic Senate. He was a vocal supporter of self-determination, advocating for independence from the Galactic Republic. Singh, a powerful political figure from Raxus, worked with his allies to establish Raxus Secundus as the capital of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In recognition of his years of service, Senator Singh received an antique vase as a gift. Despite his RA-7 protocol droid, GS-8, stating that the vase was a prized possession, Singh later admitted that he had never actually liked it.

Under new authority

Following the collapse of the Confederacy, the Galactic Empire commenced its occupation of his planet. Captain Bragg began a public announcement by telling the citizens that the occupation was for their own good, as long as they obeyed and pledged allegiance to the Empire. Senator Singh told his droid, GS-8, that he refused to endorse the occupation and would not become a puppet of the Empire. When it was his turn to speak and support the Imperial presence, he instead denounced the occupation as unjust and declared that he and the people would not submit to their intimidation. As the crowd cheered his actions, he was dragged away, and the citizens were dispersed by Imperial walkers. Singh was then imprisoned. GS-8 contacted Cid, who dispatched Clone Force 99 to rescue Singh. Meanwhile, Bragg was preparing to torture Singh into compliance. After being freed, he aided the group's escape by directing Tech to a secret passage, allowing them to evade the pursuing clone troopers and retreat to the Marauder.

Singh meeting with Senator Chuchi

After the occupation, Singh went into hiding, but later reappeared and visited the planet Pantora at the invitation of Senator Riyo Chuchi. Accompanied by GS-8 and members of the Clone Underground, Singh and Chuchi held a secret meeting in a tea parlor where they discussed their shared discontent with the Empire, stemming from both former Republic and Separatist worlds. While they were drinking tea, they were attacked by clone assassin CX-1, who tried to assassinate them. Thanks to Captain Rex, the attempt failed. Following their meeting, Senator Singh and Chuchi kept a low profile in response to the attack. After decrypting a data puck from the assassin, the clones discovered that Singh was among those targeted.

Personality and traits

Avi Singh was a human male characterized by his white hair, dark skin, and light brown eyes. The senator was completely bald on top of his head but sported prominent mutton chops.

Senator Avi Singh was a kind and honorable person who always acted in the best interests of his constituents. Despite warnings from his droid GS-8, Singh bravely refused to endorse the Imperial occupation of Raxus and instead publicly condemned it. Although these actions led to his arrest and torture in an attempt to force his compliance, his opposition to the occupation remained steadfast. After being rescued by the Bad Batch, Singh understood that he could not abandon his people to the Empire's rule. Encouraged by Echo, the Senator resolved to go into hiding. His dedication to achieving true independence for his people and Raxus never wavered.
