Darth Vader (2017) 4

Vader is having a difficult time with his initial assignment. Power comes from the dark side, but it won't be a walk in the park.

Darth Vader lands on a boulder in a forest clearing at Mount Pasvaal's base. Arex, the training droid, mocks him, saying that the Dark side of the Force is no match for the Light side of the Force. Vader ignores the droid's provocations, using his Force powers to dismantle the droid and incorporate its components into his damaged armor.

Meanwhile, in Am'balaar City, constructed around a dam, Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a contemplates his return to the planet. He visits Mareena, a mechanic who is fixing an engine with her child Colli. Master Infil'a tells her he needs his Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor. Mareena responds that the ship requires some fine-tuning but will be ready soon.

Master Infil'a shares with Mareena and Colli that he experienced a great surge of pain and fear as his fellow Jedi were being eliminated across the galaxy. Mareena mentions hearing reports of the Jedi being traitors. Colli adds that she never believed those reports. Master Infil'a believes he defeated a Sith executioner and promises to destroy his Sith master. When Mareena's husband Jogg inquires about the situation, Mareena explains that Master Infil'a is embarking on a mission. Master Infil'a adds that he is eager to depart. Mareena asks Infil'a if he is certain the Sith won't come here. Infil'a believes Vader, whom he calls a "poor, deluded creature," is dead.

After repairing his armor with Arex's parts, Vader heads to confront Master Infil'a and take his lightsaber. Back in the garage, Colli is fascinated by Master Infil'a's levitation abilities, which he uses to lift engines. Infil'a explains that the Force makes everything light. He promises to teach her about the Force when he returns from his mission. Infil'a plans to re-establish the Jedi Order on Mount Pasvaal.

Just then, Master Infil'a senses Darth Vader's presence through the Force. Leaving the garage, he discovers the Sith apprentice on top of a dam. Lord Vader challenges Master Infil'a to finish their duel. He instructs Mareena and her family to stay inside while he ascends the dam to face the Sith in a lightsaber battle. Infil'a gains an advantage by injuring Vader's right arm. Three armed security officers try to intervene, but Lord Vader uses the Force to throw them off the dam.

Horrified by Vader's lack of regard for sentient life, Master Infil'a uses the Force to levitate the officers to safety. Confronting Vader, he calls the Sith apprentice a monster. Vader agrees before using his Force powers to damage the dam's structure. Master Infil'a attempts to counteract Vader's damage using the Force. When Master Infil'a begs Vader not to harm the innocent, Lord Vader dismisses him as a fool and uses the Force to seize his lightsaber. After Force choking Infil'a, Vader throws him down the ramparts. The Jedi Master is carried away by a flood that destroys Am'balaar City. Vader watches as the city is submerged in water released from the dam.
