Kirak Infil'a was a Jedi Master of the male persuasion, whose service spanned from the High Republic Era until the twilight of the Galactic Republic. As an active member of the Jedi Order, Infil'a's forte was combat. At one juncture in his career as a Jedi, he opted to undertake the Barash Vow, which prohibited him from interacting with the Jedi Order as a form of self-imposed punishment. Because Infil'a was not actively serving the Jedi Order when Order 66 was executed, he managed to evade being killed.
Sometime afterward, he encountered the Sith Lord known as Darth Vader. Infil'a battled Vader fiercely, nearly succeeding in his attempt to eliminate him by casting the already injured Sith Lord off the edge of a precipice. Despite the significant damage to his suit, Vader survived the fall and repaired his suit using components scavenged from Infil'a's droid, Arex. During their ultimate showdown, city security personnel opened fire on the pair, prompting Vader to use the Force to hurl them over a cliff, only for Infil'a to save them. Vader exploited Infil'a's compassion for the innocent once more by unleashing a flood upon the neighboring city. While Infil'a was preoccupied with halting the deluge, Vader extracted Infil'a's lightsaber from his belt, and following a brief exchange in which Infil'a implored Vader to end his life but spare the innocent civilians, Vader used the Force to snap the Jedi's neck, thereby killing him. Subsequently, he cast Infil'a's lifeless form into the depths of the newly formed lake, where he would join the city's innocent inhabitants in their eternal rest.

Kirak Infil'a was a Jedi hailing from the High Republic Era, active during the implementation of the Guardian Protocols due to the Nihil conflict. At some point, Infil'a achieved the rank of Master within the Jedi Order. During his active service, his focus became primarily combat. Eventually, he opted for the Barash Vow, severing ties with the Order's activities in the hope of finding atonement within the Force and awaiting clarity on his true path as a Jedi. To this end, he relocated to the Jedi monastery situated on the river moon of Al'doleem. There, he continued his training alongside the monastery's Jedi training droid, Arex.
In 19 BBY, the Jedi Order was almost entirely annihilated. During this catastrophic event, Infil'a sensed the demise of the majority of the Jedi but, adhering to the stipulations of the Barash Vow, refrained from intervening. The Order's downfall was orchestrated by the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, with many Jedi falling victim to his Sith apprentice, Darth Vader. Shortly thereafter, Sidious dispatched Vader to acquire a Jedi's kyber crystal and corrupt it. Vader sought out Jedi who had undertaken the Barash Vow, as they were more easily located at that time. Upon his droid's search of the archives of an abandoned Jedi spacestation, he learned of Infil'a and sought to hunt him down to claim his lightsaber.
As Vader approached the moon, Infil'a engaged in a training session with Arex. He battled the droid while simultaneously constructing four Padawan's traps, much to Arex's dismay. Infil'a then sensed Vader's approach and instructed Arex to prepare the defenses of the mountains. As Vader neared in his starship, Infil'a deployed the Padawan's traps to bring it down. Vader managed to salvage the ship and proceeded to Infil'a's mountain, where Infil'a erected a wall to impede his progress. He confronted the Sith from atop the mountain, questioning whether he was responsible for the Jedi's demise. Vader responded by Force choking him, but he swiftly broke free and Force pushed Vader away. In a subsequent exchange, Vader confirmed his role in the Jedi's deaths and declared his intention to come for Infil'a as well. Infil'a then proclaimed his Barash Vow complete and informed Vader that he would await him at the mountain's summit.
Upon concluding his confrontation with Vader, he instructed Arex to open the sluice gate. The gate released a lake's worth of water upon Vader, submerging the Sith. Though visibly damaged by the sudden deluge, Vader parted the water with the Force and ascended to the opposite shore. As he continued his advance, Infil'a unleashed a flock of Raptorans to attack him. Vader began to overpower the birds, prompting Infil'a to observe him and inquire as to his nature. Vader managed to utilize the Force to eliminate numerous Raptorans, but one of his cybernetic legs sustained severe damage in the process. Infil'a then commanded the birds to withdraw and instructed Arex to deactivate the remaining traps, thus granting Vader unobstructed passage to them.

As Vader approached the pair at the hilltop, he hurled rocks at Infil'a, causing him to stumble backward. Arex confronted Vader with his weapon, but Vader used the Force to draw the droid toward him and sever his arm, appropriating the weapon for himself. Vader then cast the remnants of Arex over the cliff and confronted Infil'a. Infil'a surmised that Vader sought something, and as the two clashed, he concluded that Vader was after his lightsaber. The two engaged in fierce combat, and Infil'a disparaged Vader's skills. He asserted that he could not have slain so many Jedi alone and deduced that Vader must have had a master. Almost immediately thereafter, Vader's previously damaged leg gave way, rendering him unable to continue the fight. Infil'a then informed Vader of his intention to rid the galaxy of the two Sith Lords and restore light to the Force. Infil'a then blasted Vader off the cliff, sending him plummeting towards the ground below.
Assuming Vader was dead, Infil'a traveled to Am'balaar City, where his Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor was stored in a garage. He approached the owner, Mareena, who uncovered the ship. Mareena complied, but had to service the interceptor first due to its time tucked away. Infil'a explained his encounter with Mareena and began helping her with his ship. However, unbeknownst to Infil'a, Vader had survived his fall. He had landed on a rock near where Arex's remains, but the fall had badly damaged him. Once he had regained consciousness, he used the droid's parts to repair his broken mechanical leg, and his other damaged cybernetics.

When Vader finished his repairs, he traveled to Am'balaar City. There, Infil'a was still fixing up his ship and sensed his presence. He rushed outside to find Vader at the top of the city's dam. Mareena and her husband, Jogg, were confused and Infil'a told Mareena to keep working on his ship. He then jumped to the top of the dam and fought a second time with Vader. As Infil'a pushed Vader back with the force, the two were fired at by the Am'balaar City police. Vader Force choked them before throwing them off the side of the dam and Infil'a used the Force to rescue them. He then told Vader that he was a monster and Vader confirmed it before using the Force to breach one of the water tanks below. Infil'a used the Force to keep the water from drowning the citizens, but while he was distracted, Vader used the Force to take his lightsaber and Force choked him. Infil'a pleaded to let the people live, but the Sith used the Force to break more water tanks, further flooding the city. He then executed Infil'a and threw him into the flooded city.
Thanks to Infila's warning, Mareena and Jogg managed to get his ship operational and ready by the time the floodwaters reached the city. The couple placed their two children into the ship and managed to save them from the flood, although the flood ultimately killed the couple and destroyed everything else.

Shortly after killing Infil'a, Vader took his lightsaber on orders of his master, Vader traveled to Mustafar to bleed its kyber crystal color from green to red, creating his first red lightsaber. Vader kept the curved-hilt the same, until it was subsequently destroyed during an attempt on Vader's life by a family of bounty hunters on Cabarria, during which the hilt was shattered by the combined strain of a tractor rifle and Vader's pulling it back with the Force. Salvaging the crystal, Vader soon inserted the crystal into a new hilt of his own construction.
Shortly after the Battle of Fortress Vader, Vader entered a portal constructed by Darth Momin in an attempt to resurrect his wife Padmé Amidala. While walking through visions, he encountered Infil'a along with many Jedi with their lightsabers ready to battle him. However, Vader killed all the illusions, cutting both of Infil'a's arms off as the words "Let the past die" resounded in his mind.

Kirak Infil'a was a male characterized by white hair, gray eyes with black sclera. He possessed a tall, muscular physique, gray skin, and two red scars arranged in a cross formation across his chest. During his active tenure within the Jedi Order, his primary focus was combat. He shared a rapport with Jedi Master Govena. Ultimately, he severed ties with the Order's activities by undertaking the Barash Vow. His intention was to reside in solitude within the Force until his true path as a Jedi became manifest. When Darth Vader confronted him, he declared his Barash Vow complete, given the demise of his Jedi comrades and his conviction that his true path was to end with Vader's.
Infil'a possessed keen observational skills, as evidenced by his testing of Vader's abilities with a flock of Raptorans. Through this, Infil'a scrutinized Vader's combat prowess and, once satisfied with his assessment, permitted Vader to proceed to the mountain's summit for their confrontation. Infil'a displayed no fear of Vader, even branding him as weak during their duel. Following his initial triumph over the Sith, he sought to eliminate his master and avenge the Jedi they had slaughtered. However, Vader survived and soon returned to challenge him anew. During their subsequent encounter in Am'balaar City, Infil'a exhibited heightened apprehension towards Vader, particularly when the latter targeted Am'balaar City police officers and other civilians. Infil'a went to great lengths to rescue them, though this distraction ultimately led to his defeat at Vader's hands. In his final moments, Infil'a pleaded for the lives of the people Vader was drowning before him.

Kirak Infil'a specialized in lightsaber combat during his active service within the Jedi Order. Throughout his Barash Vow, he maintained his skills by training with a Jedi training droid named Arex. During the events of Order 66, Infil'a sensed the deaths of nearly every Jedi and a palpable darkness within it. Shortly before Darth Vader's arrival, he managed to battle Arex and assemble four Padawan's traps simultaneously using the Force. At the culmination of the training session, he was able to sense Vader's approach and he used the Padawan's traps to crash his ship. When he found Vader at the dam, Vader Force choked him and he was able to break free and push Vader away. Vader came up to his monastery in the hopes of killing him, but he was able to best the Sith Lord, almost killing him. During their fight, Infil'a managed to deduce Vader's intention to obtain his lightsaber and also that he had a more powerful master. However, during his second fight with Vader, he let himself get distracted by rescuing citizens and police officers who Vader attempted to kill. It led to his inevitable demise as Vader Force choked him to death and threw him into the flooded city below.

Kirak Infil'a typically wore sand-colored trousers paired with a black belt; however, when endeavoring to depart from the river moon of Al'doleem, he donned brown Jedi robes. Furthermore, he possessed a Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor, which he kept in a garage in Am'balaar City. The ship deteriorated over the years of its storage, necessitating his assistance in its repair upon his return. He wielded a green-bladed lightsaber characterized by a slightly curved-hilt design. It featured a black pommel that extended outward, complemented by metallic plating encircling the handle and emitter. Following his demise, Vader seized his weapon and corrupted the crystal to red. The hilt remained in Vader's possession until its destruction during a skirmish on Cabarria.
Kirak Infil'a made his initial appearance in Darth Vader (2017) 2, a 2017 canon comic penned by Charles Soule and illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli, before receiving his formal introduction in Darth Vader (2017) 3. Soule characterized Infil'a as a "mad cool" character. While Soule once asserted that all essential information regarding Infil'a was contained within Darth Vader 3, he later indicated that there was more to Infil'a's story yet to be revealed. As he teased before its release, more of Infil'a's backstory was revealed with the release of The High Republic: Shadows of Starlight 1, which revealed the Jedi had lived since the High Republic Era. Soule then revealed he had more to reveal about the character in regards to his relationship with Jedi Master Govena.
