Dellalo Dayson was a sergeant within the New Republic Special Forces, identified as female, who participated in the well-known Battle of Jakku.
Dayson, a female sergeant in the New Republic Special Forces, commanded a commando unit that included Margle, a Gran. As the New Republic initiated the Battle of Jakku, Dayson and her team were loading ammunition onto their UT-60D U-wing starfighter/support craft. Jom Barell, a former commando, approached her, pleading to join the conflict. Initially, she declined the disgraced SpecForces fighter's request, suggesting he speak with General [Tyben](/article/tyben]; however, Barell's persistence led Dayson to ultimately permit him to stow away on their ship.
During the engagement, Dayson's U-wing descended into Jakku's atmosphere, where a missile targeted it. Jom jumped from the transport and used his jetpack to intercept the incoming projectile, killing himself in the process but saving Dayson and her team. Surviving the battle, the sergeant later retrieved the deceased commando's belongings. While doing so, she encountered Jas Emari, Barell's former lover, and showed her footage, captured by the U-wing's camera, of Jom's final moments. Dayson acknowledged that Jom had saved her entire team, and Emari thanked her before leaving to process the news.
Dellalo Dayson made her debut appearance in the 2017 novel Aftermath: Empire's End, written by Chuck Wendig. Her name is a reference to author Delilah S. Dawson, and she shares a last name with the Legends character Alta Dayson, who also served the New Republic.
