The dolovite mines situated on Mustafar featured tunnel systems that were protected from both xandanks and lava eels by the roggwart named Kongo. These mines existed on the volcanic planet of Mustafar, a mining location; the Galactic Empire's strong protection of the area ultimately led to the termination of mining activities there around the time of the Galactic Civil War. Though Kongo relished using his bare hands to slay massive eels at the dolovite mines, he later transitioned to becoming a gladiator at the Grakkus Arena located on Nar Shaddaa by the year 0 ABY. During that year, an announcer from Grakkus's arena recounted the roggwart's history working in the mines, just as the creature, now known as "Kongo the Disemboweler," was unleashed to fight Luke Skywalker, the Jedi-in-training.
The dolovite mines on Mustafar were referenced within the eleventh issue of Star Wars, a comic series. This issue was authored by Jason Aaron, and it was released on November 4, 2015 by Marvel Comics.
