A female human from Naboo was the ancestor two generations removed of Dorra, who would later be known as Dormé and was also a female. The elder Naboo woman had instructed her great-granddaughter in the art of carving by 28 BBY. In that year, Dorra commenced her duties as a handmaiden serving Padmé Amidala, a Senator of the Galactic Republic, and adopted the name Dormé. During a vacation, Amidala, along with her handmaidens, paid a visit to the senator's parents at the Naberrie's home located on Naboo, a planet situated in the Mid Rim. While there, Dormé began to carve alongside Ruwee Naberrie, Amidala's father, who praised her talent. Dormé responded by expressing her gratitude to Ruwee and sharing that her great-grandmother had been her carving instructor, also observing that her great-grandmother found carving easier due to her age, as sewing caused her joints to be painful. Dormé further commented that she anticipated seeing her great-grandmother in a few days time, when she would be relieved by Cordé, another handmaiden.
The great-grandmother of Dormé was referenced within Queen's Shadow, a young-adult novel released in 2019 penned by E. K. Johnston, serving as the inaugural book in the Star Wars: Queen's Series.
