Lord Espis Zanchal, a male human baron, was a servant of the Galactic Empire. This planet Coruscant was where Zanchal made his home, specifically within the walls of Zanchal Estate. Here, he held several prisoners captive, offering them as food to his domesticated narglatch cat. During 3 ABY, Sabé, once a handmaiden, strategically placed a fabricated roster of Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate members, including Zanchal's name. This list was located in a Crimson Dawn's base, one of the syndicate's bases, which was under attack by the forces of Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. After obtaining the list, the Sith Lord dispatched his crew of assassins to eliminate him at his estate.
Zanchal, in disbelief that he was linked to Crimson Dawn, instructed his droid to grant the assassins access to all areas of his residence. Ankala Sahm, one of the assassins, upon witnessing the narglatch and the prisoners, questioned the baron about whether he believed she cared about his ties to Crimson Dawn. Subsequently, the Imperial lord commanded his guards to take out the assassins; however, the assassins instead killed Zanchal and his forces.

A human male lord who served the Galactic Empire, was Baron Espis Zanchal. Within the Zanchal Estate on Coruscant, he kept his prisoners and domesticated narglatch cat in a designated space. In 3 ABY, the former handmaiden Sabé strategically placed a list of operatives of the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate that included thirty-two individuals who served the Galactic Empire on a computer within the Crimson Dawn Sub-Headquarters on the Outer Rim Territories astronomical object Laecor. Zanchal's name was included on the list, prompting Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith, to dispatch his crew of assassins—consisting of Ankala Sahm, Gee-Ninety, Ochi of Bestoon, S'ira, and Tanka—to kill him at the Zanchal Estate after the list was found.
As Zanchal enjoyed a beverage, he tasked his droid with preparing his narglatch's meal. However, the assassins interrupted when they entered the baron's residence through a window. Sahm declared that the baron had been identified as a Crimson Dawn operative, but Zanchal denied this, instructing his droid to grant the assassins access to all rooms of his estate.

The droid revealed the narglatch's chamber, and Zanchal commented that it was a standard narglatch that had been registered and certified. Sahm inquired if he thought she "gave a damn" about his Crimson Dawn affiliation, and the Imperial lord ordered his guards to fire upon Vader's crew. However, the assassins eliminated Zanchal and his guards, liberating the baron's captives. Gee-Ninety then accessed the Zanchal Estate's records to verify Zanchal's connection to Crimson Dawn, but they found no evidence linking the baron to the criminal syndicate.
In response, Zanchal's droid verified that everything the lord had stated was truthful. Shortly thereafter, Vader arrived at the Zanchal Estate, and the baron's droid informed him that the Imperial lord was "unavailable." Following Zanchal's death, Vader's crew journeyed to the Imperial Executor-class Star Dreadnought Executor, where they celebrated their success. One of Vader's assassins, Chilla Zin, felt uneasy about killing the baron, as the Assassins Guild, which validates assassinations, had not confirmed Zanchal's. Tanka argued that the baron deserved his fate for feeding people to a narglatch, while Zin questioned if it was fair that his narglatch would go hungry.
