On the Outer Rim planet of Varkana, the vendor known as Darrb made his home within a house. During the events of 34 ABY, Resistance agents Kazuda Xiono along with Norath Kev forcibly brought Darrb into his own house. They then concealed themselves inside the structure while fleeing from two stormtroopers serving the First Order. The merchant, under the impression that the pair were common criminals, managed to break free by stepping on Kev's foot, which inadvertently revealed their location to the pursuing stormtroopers. Following Xiono and Kev's incapacitation of the two troopers, Darrb sternly ordered them to vacate his premises at once.
This dwelling, situated on the Outer Rim planet of Varkana, was characterized by its light gray entrance door, its tan-colored walls, and a rectangular rug of gray hue. The interior of the residence was also equipped with a number of cabinets, shelving units, significant counter space, and sufficient seating for several occupants. To ensure internal visibility, the house was fitted with lighting installations in addition to a window. By 34 ABY, several storage units were positioned in close proximity to the building's entrance.
At the time of the conflict known as the war between the First Order and the Resistance, the Gabdorin vendor Darrb called this house his home. In 34 ABY, Darrb was walking towards his house on the streets of Varkana carrying a basket filled with produce. As Kazuda Xiono and Norath Kev of the Resistance were attempting to run from two stormtroopers belonging to the First Order, they requested that the vendor allow them to hide inside his residence. However, given that their pursuers were rapidly closing in, Xiono noted that waiting was not an option. The two then physically carried Darrb into his dwelling, utilizing their hands to prevent him from making any noise. The vendor became agitated and fearful, thinking they were criminals intent on robbing him, and was not calmed by Xiono's assurances that they would leave shortly.
Shortly after the stormtroopers passed by the house's entrance, Darrb freed himself from the pair by stomping on Kev's foot, which caused Kev to cry out in pain. The stormtroopers, having heard Kev's cry, demanded entry into the building as Kev and Xiono tried to hide, leaving Darrb to stand at the room's entrance. When the troopers then forced their way inside, they were confronted by the frightened vendor. Upon questioning about the whereabouts of the Resistance operatives, Darrb attempted to subtly indicate their presence, but Xiono and Kev instead knocked the two troopers unconscious using bowls. The homeowner then told Xiono and Kev to leave his house, throwing produce at them as they left with the unconscious stormtroopers.
The first appearance of Darrb's house was in "Breakout," which was the thirteenth episode from the second season of the animated series Star Wars Resistance, which was originally broadcast on December 22, 2019. The house was first shown in a video on Disney XD's YouTube channel on December 15 of the same year, before the episode was released.
Lucasfilm Animation artist Aaron Pham created a concept picture of the house with the name "verkDomicileAmleto" for "Breakout" on May 7, 2018. The house was initially created for Amleto, an Elomin spy who was in an earlier version of the episode. However, she was removed from "Breakout," and Darrb took her place in the scene where Xiono and Kev hid in the house to avoid stormtroopers.
