Darrb, a Gabdorin male merchant, made his living on the planet of Varkana in 34 ABY. His residence was situated on Varkana, and he made his living selling fruits alongside vegetables at the Vargo Spaceport. A passing Resistance operative, Kazuda Xiono, disrupted his stall in the spaceport, when he stumbled, causing a collection of fruits and vegetables to spill. This prompted the Gabdorin to angrily chase Xiono away from his merchandise. Xiono, accompanied by a Resistance spy named Norath Kev, later unlawfully entered Darrb's home, leading him to seek assistance from First Order stormtroopers to remove the intruders. When the Resistance fighters triumphed over the stormtroopers, Darrb personally demanded that they vacate his home.
Darrb was a Gabdorin male merchant who operated a stall within the Vargo Spaceport located on his homeworld, the planet of Varkana. In the year 34 ABY, Kazuda Xiono, a member of the Resistance, along with his droid, CB-23, journeyed from the Colossus space station to the spaceport, as CB-23 was honing in on a distress signal originating from the Resistance. During their time there, Xiono tripped and knocked over a container belonging to Darrb, resulting in the spillage of various fruits and vegetables. The vendor, in response, yelled at Xiono in an unknown alien language. Despite Xiono's apology before his departure, Darrb, in frustration, threw some of the produce at the Resistance member. The Gabdorin was seen drinking from a container as he walked through the spaceport. Later that night, Darrb was approached by two First Order stormtroopers who showed him a wanted poster featuring Xiono and Norath Kev, a Duros Resistance spy.

While attempting to evade capture by two First Order stormtroopers, Xiono and Kev encountered Darrb as he was entering his home. Initially, they asked the Gabdorin for permission to seek refuge inside his home. However, with the First Order closing in, they declared that there was no time to wait for his consent and forcibly carried Darrb into the house. Darrb voiced his concerns about being robbed, prompting Kev and Xiono to cover the Gabdorin's mouth with their hands. The stormtroopers passed by the house, preventing Darrb from calling for their assistance. Subsequently, he stomped on Kev's foot, causing the Duros to cry out in pain, thereby alerting the stormtroopers outside.
The two stormtroopers proceeded to knock on the door, demanding that it be opened. When their demands were ignored, one of the stormtroopers fired at the door's control panel, causing it to open and reveal a terrified Darrb holding a container of fruits and vegetables. They inquired whether two Resistance spies were present. Darrb attempted to subtly indicate that the spies were behind the stormtroopers, but Kev and Xiono incapacitated the two troopers. Following this, he demanded that the two Resistance members leave immediately, throwing produce at them as they departed, dragging the stormtroopers along with them.
Darrb was very protective of both his merchandise and his home. He demonstrated his anger by throwing food at Xiono when the Resistance member stumbled and caused a mess at his stall. Later, when the spies unlawfully entered his home, he willingly sought the attention of the First Order to preserve the sanctity of his residence. Once the spies were leaving, he once again displayed his anger by throwing food at them as they retreated. Darrb had purple skin and yellow eyes. When Darrb was interacting with Kev and Xiono, he communicated in a language other than Basic.
During his encounter with Xiono, Darrb was wearing a tan shirt with two vertical green stripes on each side and a green collar. The sleeves had white wraps on the forearm and ended with a brown cuff. His attire included brown pants that were tan at the knees with a blue trim, along with a brown belt and brown boots. He utilized a light brown pot to transport his fruits and vegetables.

Darrb's debut appearance was in "The Missing Agent," which was the twelfth episode of the second season of the animated television series Star Wars Resistance. It was broadcast on December 22, 2019. He was credited solely as "Vendor." On December 29 of that same year, Darrb reappeared in the following episode, "Breakout," where the subtitles identified the Gabdorin by the name Darrb, even though he was credited as "Citizen." Jonathan Lipow provided his voice in both of these appearances. He was initially previewed in the trailer for Season Two, which was released earlier that year on August 14 on the official Star Wars YouTube channel.
Although the Gabdorin did not speak Basic, the script contained dialogue that was written to convey the intended sound of the alien language. The character of Darrb in "Breakout" was originally intended for another Resistance spy, the Elomin named Amleto. Amleto's design was fully completed before she was removed from the story arc, and her key scene was then reassigned to Darrb.
