A type of bread known as five-blossom bread originated on the planet Naboo, a world located in the Mid Rim, and was suitable for consumption by both humans and Artiodacs. Senator Padmé Amidala often baked this bread during her younger years, considering it one of her specialties. During the Clone Wars, a Naboo ambassador gifted the senator with some five-blossom bread. She chose to keep it for a special occasion, eventually sharing it with Anakin Skywalker, her husband, during a visit to her apartment. Saché, who served as one of Amidala's handmaidens, held five-blossom bread in high regard, considering it a favorite.
Sometime after the Battle of Takodana which took place in 34 ABY, Strono Tuggs, a chef, featured a five-blossom bread recipe in The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook. Subsequently, he began offering it at Tuggs' Grub, his restaurant located on the Outer Rim planet Batuu. It was also available at Oga's Cantina, situated in the settlement Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. The cantina served it accompanied by either Mustard Cream or Spicy Cheese Sauce.
The initial mention of five-blossom bread occurred in the The Clone Wars television series episode titled "Senate Spy," which was the fourth episode of its second season, and was broadcasted on October 16, 2009. Its first appearance was in Queen's Shadow, a novel penned by E. K. Johnston in 2019. The first visual representation of five-blossom bread was in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, a cookbook released in the same year, with authorship credited to Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak.
In 2022, Oga's Cantina, a real-world restaurant located in the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge themed area at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, began serving five-blossom bread. It was initially described as a "Warm Pretzel Knot with Hawaiian Black Sea Salt served with Honey-Mustard Cream Foam and Calabrian Cheese Sauce." However, sometime in early 2023, the recipe and name of the bread underwent a change at Disneyland. It was renamed Garlic-Cheese Five Blossom Bread with Spicy Cheese Sauce, and its description was updated to "Warm Garlic Parmesan Pretzel Knot and Chile de Arbol Cheese Sauce."
