The designation force Spike referred to a wing comprised of three squadrons of Chiss Clawcraft, specifically those belonging to Syndic Mitth'raw'nuruodo's Household Phalanx. During the initial months of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, these squadrons were deployed by Baron Fel to assist New Republic forces, operating under the leadership of his son, Jag.
Nssis-class Clawcraft, the ship of choice for force Spike. Working alongside a battlegroup from the Imperial Remnant, which was commanded by Grand Admiral Gilad Pellaeon, force Spike played a vital role in the rescue of Ganner Rhysode, Corran Horn, and Jacen Solo from Garqi. Subsequently, they joined forces with both Imperial and New Republic units in the defense of Ithor, where the exceptional combat abilities and warrior spirit of the Chiss pilots made a significant impression on the other officers present.
Following the events on Ithor, after the Moff Council ordered Pellaeon's recall, Jag Fel made the decision to remain with the New Republic forces actively engaged against the Yuuzhan Vong at the front lines. He dispatched one of the squadrons back to Pellaeon to deliver a report to his father, while he and the remaining two squadrons placed themselves under the command of his uncle, General Wedge Antilles, serving aboard Admiral Traest Kre'fey's flagship, the Ralroost.
Information regarding the subsequent deployments of force Spike is limited; however, despite the Household Phalanx command seemingly issuing a recall order shortly after receiving news from Ithor, it is evident that at least one Clawcraft continued to fight alongside Rogue Squadron during the Battle of Kalarba, which took place ten months later.
By the year 28 ABY, Jag Fel was apparently no longer the commanding officer of force Spike. Despite Baron Fel's promise that Jag would be given command of his squadrons, and more, should the Chiss commit to the war against the Yuuzhan Vong, this never materialized. Ultimately, a single squadron was deployed a few months prior to the Battle of Ebaq, and this remained Fel's command until the war's conclusion. It's possible this was one of the three squadrons that originally made up force Spike, but due to combat losses, by the time of the Battle of Yuuzhan'tar, it had been integrated into the Galactic Alliance X-wing unit known as Twin Suns Squadron.
