Freefall

title: Freefall

The Freefall was a bomber of the Freefall-class and served as the personal starfighter for Jinkins.

Characteristics

Equipped with a pair of long-range laser cannons, it also possessed the capability to deploy mechanized drone fighters.

The laser cannons on the Freefall exceeded the power of standard models, emitting long-range cyan energy beams that could easily obliterate most targets. This enhanced power was achieved through Jinkins' incorporation of a unique sand from the wastelands of Lok within the focusing array.

History

In the period preceding the Clone Wars, Jinkins piloted the Freefall to a Trade Federation communications hub located on Maramere. He landed the craft on its rooftop platform while he and Nym infiltrated the facility to hack into the computer system. Their objective was to acquire the command codes for Station 1138 and pinpoint the location of Harro Ruuk's sensor installation. With the codes secured, he then flew the starfighter during the subsequent conflict to liberate Captain Orsai along with other members of the Lok Revenants in preparation for an assault on the sensor station.

The Freefall participated in the raid itself, providing cover for the demolition boats piloted by Orsai and Sol Sixxa. Following the station's destruction, it engaged Harro Ruuk's submarine in combat. With the sensor station gone, Nym and Jinkins were free to target the Trade Federation's mining operations at Mount Merakan, although some freighters had already escaped.

Tracking this convoy brought the Revenants and their Jedi ally Adi Gallia to Nod Kartha, whose formidable defenses suggested that the planet was central to the Trade Federation's illicit trihexalon production. Prior to the raid, Nym had convinced the Meerians to lend him two heavy cruisers, named the Tritus and the Kethor. While the Kethor was lost, the attacking force successfully breached Nod Kartha's defensive perimeter. As Jinkins descended through the atmosphere, he requested that Juno, the captain of the Tritus, scan the wreckage of the battle with the hope of recovering one of the heavy orbital cannons for use in the effort to reclaim Lok.

Jinkins' concept proved viable, and the Freefall was crucial in protecting Juno's tugs during a clash with forces from Sabaoth Squadron to secure the cannon's components. Jinkins continued to fly the Freefall as Nym's wingman while the cannon was being reconstructed on Khons, and during the subsequent assault on their former stronghold on Lok.

The last notable engagement that the fighter is known to have participated in was when the Lok Revenants arrived at the First Battle of Geonosis to provide support to Adi Gallia and her Jedi comrades in defending the Republic's ground troops from Sabaoth Squadron. Jinkins utilized the Freefall to protect the Tritus and two other Mere cruisers as they bombarded the Sabaoth Destroyers.
