Funeral of Etain Tur-Mukan

The Jedi funeral of Etain Tur-Mukan commemorated the death of Jedi Knight Etain Tur-Mukan. This ceremony took place in 19 BBY, specifically two days after Etain's passing on Coruscant on the same night that Order 66 was executed.

Etain's body was cremated on top of a pyre located at the Kyrimorut estate belonging to Clan Skirata on Mandalore. Friends and family were present, including her young son, Venku. During the service, Kal Skirata, who was the adoptive father of Etain's husband, Darman, reached into the flames to touch her body. He then recited the Mandalorian tradition known as the gai bal manda—translated as "name and soul"—thereby formally adopting her as his daughter after her death. He also added a lock of her son's hair to the fire. After the funeral service, her ashes were collected to be given to Darman, who was not able to attend.
