Fourth Fleet (Galactic Alliance)
The Fourth Fleet, a component of the Galactic Alliance Defense Fleet, stood as one of the five primary fleets serving the Galactic Alliance government. Its initial deployment occurred during the concluding phases of the Yuuzhan Vong War. This fleet originated from the former New Republic Fourth Battle Group. Due to the exceptional capabilities of its personnel, the fleet earned the moniker "Fearless Fourth."
History
Following the transformation of the New Republic into the Galactic Alliance, a restructuring led to the establishment of four strategic fleets. This reorganization mirrored the structure of the five strategic fleets that had previously served within the New Republic Defense Fleet.
During the significant Battle of Yuuzhan'tar, Grand Admiral Gilad Pellaeon held command of the fleet, directing operations from the Star Destroyer Right to Rule. The Fourth Fleet distinguished itself as the first Alliance fleet to arrive in the system. Its primary mission was to deploy Alliance ground forces onto the planet's surface, facilitating their link-up with local resistance cells. This fleet consisted of a combination of Alliance and Imperial Remnant warships.
Under the leadership of Admiral [Ratobo], and subsequently Admiral Gavin Darklighter following Ratobo's demise, the Fourth Fleet played a vital role in the defense of the Core Worlds during the Second Galactic Civil War. Engagements included battles against the Confederation at locations such as Balmorra and Kuat in 40 ABY. A portion of the Fourth Fleet, specifically half of its forces, served under Jacen Solo during the Second Battle of Fondor.
The Fourth Fleet maintained its allegiance to Jacen Solo, who was now publicly known as Darth Caedus. Later, the Fourth Fleet supported the Imperial Remnant's occupation of the Roche system, providing protection for convoys against raids by Jedi piloting StealthX fighters. Subsequently, the Fourth Fleet formed the Galactic Alliance contingent in the Second Battle of Roche, a conflict involving Imperial, Alliance-in-exile, Confederation, Jedi Coalition, Galactic Alliance, and Maw Irregular Fleet forces.
