Gauntlet (Bo-Katan Kryze)

The Gauntlet was a type of Kom'rk-class fighter/transport. This vessel was piloted by Bo-Katan Kryze, who led the Mandalorian Nite Owls. Kryze utilized it in her quest to find allies to assist in freeing Mandalore, her people's homeworld. Kryze, along with two other Nite Owls, made use of this ship when they were tracking Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi. They pursued her from the planet Oba Diah all the way to Level 1313 on Coruscant.

Description

Being a Kom'rk-class fighter/transport, the Gauntlet came equipped with a Class 1 hyperdrive, as well as four engines. It also had a targeting computer, and was armed with four laser cannons, with two mounted on the front and two on the back. This starship had the capacity for a crew of two pilots and its length was 52.3 meters. Similar to other vessels of its class, its maximum speed was 1,000 kph.

History

In the year 19 BBY, following the dissolution of the Mandalorian splinter group known as Death Watch, Mandalore, the homeworld of the Mandalorians, was seized by Maul, the Dathomirian renegade Sith Lord. As a result, Bo-Katan Kryze, the leader of the Nite Owls and a former member of Death Watch, sought refuge aboard the Gauntlet together with Ursa Wren and another Nite Owl. As the leader of the Mandalore resistance, Kryze and her companions were in search of potential allies to join their cause and assist in freeing their home from Maul's dominion.

The ship at Level 1313

During that same year, while the trio was pursuing Ahsoka Tano, the former Jedi, Kryze piloted the Kom'rk-class fighter and departed from the planet Oba Diah. She was tracking the Silver Angel, a Nebula-class freighter that Tano was aboard. Using the fighter's computer to lock onto the Angel, they followed the freighter to Level 1313 on Coruscant, a planet in the Core Worlds. It was there that Kryze encountered Tano and requested her assistance. After the former Jedi agreed to aid the Nite Owl, they both boarded the Kom'rk-class fighter/transport and left Level 1313 together.

Owners and operators

After Maul's takeover of Mandalore, Kryze, along with Ursa Wren and another Nite Owl, found sanctuary aboard the Gauntlet as they looked for allies to help them free Mandalore.
