Gerran

Gerran, a male prince of the Human species from the planet Doan, flourished during the Golden Age of the Old Republic. Sometime following the year 1000 BBY, he was afflicted with Idolian fever, but the healer Serra successfully cured him. A romance blossomed between Gerran and Serra, culminating in their marriage, despite the objections of his father. Around that time, tensions escalated between the Doan Royal Family and the planet's mining caste. Tragically, in 980 BBY, the miners, in their attempt to seize the prince, destroyed Gerran's airspeeder, resulting in his accidental death.

Biography

Around the time of the New Sith Wars, a male Human named Gerran was born into the Royal Family of Doan. He rose to become the prince of the planet Doan. After the conclusion of the war, sometime after 1000 BBY, Gerran became ill with a mysterious ailment. His father then employed the healer Serra to provide treatment, and she quickly identified Gerran's symptoms, diagnosing him with Idolian fever. Serra cared for the prince, restoring his health over a period of three months, during which Gerran fell in love with her. Once he had fully recovered, Gerran proposed marriage to Serra, and she accepted, with the stipulation that her loyal friend and bodyguard, Lucia, be permitted to remain by her side.

Initially, Gerran's father was opposed to the marriage, and his attempts to uncover information about Serra's background were thwarted by the actions of Serra's father, Caleb. Caleb, a healer who had remained neutral during the New Sith Wars, was once threatened by a Sith Lord who demanded he heal him or Serra would be killed. Caleb then forced his daughter to change her name and leave the planet to prevent her from being tracked down and used as leverage. Serra kept her past a secret, even from Gerran, but he accepted that her past was not important. Eventually, Gerran's father reluctantly agreed to Serra's request, allowing Gerran to marry her and permitting Lucia to join the Doan Royal Guard.

However, around that time, the Royal House became embroiled in conflict with the planet's lower-class mining caste, and the miners began an uprising against the powerful Royal Family. In 980 BBY, Gelba, the leader of the mining caste, ordered that Gerran's airspeeder be forced to land in an attempt to capture the prince. During the assault, the airspeeder was accidentally destroyed, resulting in Gerran's death.

Following Gerran's death, Serra became deeply despondent, prompting Lucia to hire the Iktotchi assassin known as the Huntress to assassinate Gelba in retaliation. However, a Jedi Knight, Medd Tandar, was also killed during Gelba's assassination. Serra believed that Gerran would have wanted her to ensure the Jedi knew that the Royal Family had not been responsible for Tandar's death, so she journeyed to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to convey this message.

Personality and traits

Gerran enjoyed considerable popularity among the nobility of Doan. He recognized valuable qualities in Serra, and their love for one another was profound. Despite his father's unsuccessful attempts to uncover information about Serra's past, Gerran accepted that her past was not important. After Gerran's death and the assassination of Gelba, Serra traveled to the Jedi Temple to assure the Jedi that the Royal Family did not intend for Medd Tandar to die, as she believed Gerran would have wanted her to do so.
