Glottsamcrabs were a type of reclusive mollusc found inhabiting the muddy swamps of the planet Koboh, using found objects as their makeshift shelters. In the year 9 BBY, the fisherman Skoova Stev captured a glottsamcrab within Koboh's Viscid Bog to display it in the aquarium located at Pyloon's Saloon.
Despite the implication of their name, glottsamcrabs are actually a species of mollusc that lives a solitary existence in the muddy swamps of planet Koboh, an environment where many fish are unable to adapt and thrive. These molluscs possess a blue shell-like covering, along with four legs tipped in red, and two red-tipped claws. Their dark eyes sit atop raised stalks, featuring spiked protrusions at the ends. Glottsamcrabs construct their homes from any available material that can serve as a temporary shell, which can include discarded debris, broken machinery, and the abandoned shells of other molluscs that are long-dead.
During the time that the fisher Skoova Stev was serving on the fishing vessel known as the Grapnel, he observed a fellow crew member attempting to capture a glottsamcrab from amongst the seafoam. However, the mollusc managed to hook the crewmate by her nostril, subsequently pulling her overboard and into the water.
In 9 BBY, the fisherman [Skoova Stev](/article/skoova_stev] caught a glottsamcrab in the Viscid Bog of Koboh, which was using the head of a B1-series battle droid as its shell, as the Jedi Knight Cal Kestis looked on. Stev then recounted the story of his crewmate's encounter with a glottsamcrab to Kestis. Later, the fisher added this particular mollusc to the aquarium found inside Pyloon's Saloon.
A glottsamcrab made an appearance in the 2023 video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, developed by Respawn Entertainment.
