Hound, an Advanced Recon Force Scout Trooper, and his loyal massiff, Grizzer, served within the ranks of the Grand Army of the Republic. They were stationed at the Republic Center for Military Operations on the planet of Coruscant throughout the duration of the Clone Wars. During the year 20 BBY, Grizzer nearly succeeded in finding Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi who had been falsely accused of murder and was being actively pursued by forces of the Galactic Republic. Although Grizzer was unable to pinpoint her location, CC-1010, known as "Fox," spotted her. Consequently, Grizzer, along with Hound and other clones, engaged in a pursuit of Ahsoka, but she managed to escape into the depths of Coruscant's underlevels.
During the Clone Wars, specifically in 20 BBY, Grizzer, the massiff belonging to ARF Trooper Hound, was stationed at the Republic Center for Military Operations on Coruscant. This conflict was between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In that standard year, Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi Commander, was wrongly accused of the murder of Letta Turmond, who was being held within the facility.
Tano was in the process of escaping the base, having already left the building. As Grizzer, Hound, and other clones walked by, she was concealing herself behind a statue depicting a clone trooper. Grizzer halted and began sniffing, detecting the presence of the Jedi. The massiff then turned and lunged towards the location where Tano had been, only to find it empty. Hound tugged on Grizzer's leash and urged the reptile to continue the search. Tano, having climbed onto the statue to avoid detection, was subsequently noticed by Clone Commander CC-1010, known as "Fox." Alerted to her whereabouts, Grizzer, Hound, and other members of the Grand Army of the Republic pursued her past the First Battle Memorial, eventually losing her in an industrial pipe system, allowing her to evade capture and escape to Coruscant's lower regions.
This black-eyed massiff possessed scaled skin that was a charcoal gray color, adorned with a yellow pattern across its back.

Grizzer made their debut appearance in "The Jedi Who Knew Too Much," the eighteenth episode of the fifth season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, which was broadcast on February 16, 2013. Subsequently, the massiff was featured in the miniature game Star Wars: Legion's LAAT/le Patrol Transport Unit Expansion, where they were paired with Hound as a single pilot card for the Republic-aligned LAAT/le patrol gunship. This duo granted the gunship the ability to force opposing units to reroll their defensive dice, thereby increasing the player's chances of a successful attack. Despite this, the episode in which they appeared did not include the LAAT/le, only showcasing the LAAT/i transport. Moreover, the subsequent episode that featured the LAAT/le gunship did not include either massiffs or ARF Troopers. Borja Pindado created the image used on the card.
