Interdictor (Interdictor-class)

The Interdictor, a prototype Interdictor-class heavy cruiser, was outfitted with a quartet of gravity well projectors. This allowed it to forcibly remove starships from the realm of hyperspace. The Imperial Navy assigned the Imperial Interdictor to Admiral Brom Titus, tasking him with assessing the cruiser's capabilities against a rebel patrol located within the Del Zennis system. Not long after, the Imperial Interdictor successfully captured the Liberator, a rebel vessel serving as the flagship for Commander Jun Sato's Phoenix Cell. Among those taken prisoner was Ezra Bridger, a youthful Jedi apprentice and a persistent adversary of the Galactic Empire. Following its demise, a new iteration, the Interdictor-class Star Destroyer, was engineered.

Desctiption

Measuring 1,129 meters in length, the Interdictor featured both a hangar bay and sublight engines. Its arsenal included four gravity well projectors, enabling Interdictor class ships to create an interdiction field. This artificial gravity well could force other ships out of hyperspace and prevent their entry.

History

During an unspecified time in its operational history, it operated in conjunction with two other Interdictor-class heavy cruisers above a green planet, extracting a CR90 corvette from hyperspace.

At some juncture during the Imperial Era, the Imperial Navy placed the Imperial Interdictor under the command of Admiral Brom Titus. He subsequently evaluated the cruiser's effectiveness against a rebel patrol within the Del Zennis system. Shortly thereafter, the Imperial Interdictor seized the rebel starship Liberator, the flagship of Commander Jun Sato's Phoenix Cell. On board was Ezra Bridger, a young Jedi apprentice and a constant thorn in the side of the Galactic Empire. A triumphant Admiral Titus proceeded to inform Agent Kallus of the Imperial Security Bureau about his recent capture. Despite Kallus's warnings regarding Ezra's potential threat, Titus dismissed the notion that a young individual could pose a significant challenge to the Imperial Navy. Later, several rebels—the Jedi Kanan Jarrus, Captain Rex, and the astromech droid Chopper—infiltrated the Imperial Interdictor. They soon encountered Ezra, who had already managed to escape confinement, and promptly freed Commander Sato and his crew. In the meantime, Chopper and Ezra sabotaged the Interdictor's gravity well projectors. Following a brief engagement aboard the Interdictor, the rebels successfully fled on the Liberator.

The Interdictor is destroyed with its escort vessels.

Admiral Titus gave the order for his crew to activate the gravity well projectors. However, the projectors pulled in not only the Liberator but also the Interdictor's accompanying Arquitens-class command cruisers. The light cruisers collided with the Imperial Interdictor, one striking the ventral side and the other scraping the dorsal surface before reaching the bridge. This triggered an explosion from the gravity wells, resulting in the destruction of the warship and its escorts. Amidst the chaos, the Phoenix rebels made their escape into hyperspace aboard the Liberator. Admiral Titus managed to survive the Imperial Interdictor's destruction by fleeing in an escape pod and subsequently reported the disastrous event to Agent Kallus.
