Jacque Porte, a Force-attuned child from the world of D'Qar, had their name recorded within a memory crystal that surfaced after the execution of Order 66. Subsequent to Darth Vader's capture of Jedi Chief Librarian Jocasta Nu following their duel within the Jedi Temple, Imperial shock troopers serving the Galactic Empire searched Nu, uncovering the aforementioned memory crystal. Upon Vader's analysis of this crystal, he discovered it contained a roster of Force-sensitive children, potential targets previously identified by the Jedi Order, with Porte's name included.
Nu understood that Galactic Emperor Palpatine, secretly Darth Sidious and Vader's Sith Master, was actively seeking this list, even during his tenure as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. Nu believed his intention was to cultivate more Sith warriors. After Jocasta revealed Vader's prior identity, Vader killed the shock troopers present. The former Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker then proceeded to kill Nu, reporting to his master that she perished during an attempted escape. When Palpatine inquired about any information gleaned from Nu, Vader claimed to have learned nothing.
The first mention of Jacque Porte occurred through their name, written in Aurebesh, within the canon comic book Darth Vader (2017) 10. This comic was authored by Charles Soule, with illustrations by Giuseppe Camuncoli, and was released in 2018.
