Jarwal tree

Jarwal trees were a species of tree that grew on Akiva, a planet located in the Outer Rim. As they aged, the branches of these trees took on a twisted, gnarled look, and when they flowered, they emitted a pleasant aroma from their petals. The name of these trees was similar to that of jarwal fiber, a kind of material commonly found in Akiva's inhabited civilian zones. Once, a branch broke off a mature jarwal tree and landed on the roof of the Saltwheel Playhouse, a building situated in Myrra, the capital city of Akiva. Norra Wexley, a rebel pilot, journeyed through Myrra's streets in 4 ABY and observed that the branch remained on the Saltwheel Playhouse's roof, even after several years had passed since it fell.

Behind the scenes

A jarwal tree branch was featured in Aftermath, a novel penned by Chuck Wendig in 2015, marking the beginning of the Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy. In Star Wars Outlaws, a video game by Massive Entertainment released in 2024, a "Jarwal bloom" flower from this tree can be located and used as a significant charm, boosting adrenaline gained from blaster headshots and enabling players to strike an extra enemy while using their "Adrenaline Rush" power.
