Plot Summary

The Jedi Knight named Kerra Holt uncovers the truth that her supposed ally, Jenn Devaad, along with her Grace Command organization, are actually involved in the illicit trade of spice narcotics. Refusing to leave her crew to the cruel whims of the Hutt crime lord known as Zodoh, Captain Devaad forcefully retrieves several Deluge spice containers and returns to Zodoh's flagship, the Voracious. Simultaneously, Zodoh's Stormdriver vessels initiated a planet-wide deluge on Aquilaris Minor, causing widespread flooding across the planet in a matter of hours. Kerra spearheaded a frantic evacuation operation, utilizing her Fire Lotus-class starfighter to transport numerous civilians to higher ground. Kerra also crossed paths with her childhood companion, Joad Kreel, who had come to regret his actions and abandoned Deluge spice for good. Kerra attempted to persuade Joad to assist her in the evacuation efforts, suggesting that they could escape together this time. However, Joad responded that it was already too late for him and plunged into the stormy waters, much to Kerra's dismay.

Aboard his flagship, the Voracious, Zodoh convened another holoconference with the local Sith Lords, announcing the successful demonstration of his Aquilarian test. Zodoh planned to submerge all of Lord Daiman's worlds, starting with his capital city of Darkknell. He convinced the other Sith Lords to keep Daiman's forces occupied at the frontiers in exchange for becoming his future trade partners. Zodoh also intended to utilize Jenn's supply of Deluge spice to manufacture his own stock. He would then contaminate food supplies with the narcotic as part of his plan to weaken resistance to his conquest of the Grumani sector. Jenn then demanded that Zodoh release her crew, only to discover that the Hutt had murdered them all by ejecting them into the vacuum of space. However, Jenn had a surprise prepared. She had equipped the food containers with timed explosives, triggering a series of blasts that caused significant internal damage to the Voracious. Jenn capitalized on the resulting chaos to escape aboard a twin-seater Hutt starfighter.

Jenn's explosions disrupted the coordination of the Stormdriver fleet, bringing the artificial rains and storms to a halt. Meanwhile, Kerra had evacuated the civilians to Tarrah Hill, the highest elevation on Aquilaris Minor. At the last possible moment, a Seacropper Submersible manned by Joad surfaced, and they transported the refugees to an underwater harvester station located beneath the ocean floor. Due to the sheer number of refugees, the submersible had to make multiple trips. The leading Seacropper named Padgett also offered the assistance of the Seacroppers in opening the sea tunnels beneath the harvesting station. By the time morning arrived, Kerra's evacuation efforts had saved the lives of thousands of Aquilarians. Jenn located Kerra's submersible and reunited with her, revealing Zodoh's plans to flood Darkknell, a densely populated world inhabited by billions of sentient beings. Resolving to put aside their differences and collaborate to defeat a common enemy, the women departed aboard their twin-seater Hutt starfighter.
