A male Trandoshan enslaver, Kootan operated as part of an acquisition team for the Xonti Brothers. Under the leadership of Noka, the group of five Trandoshans journeyed to Kashyyyk, where Krrsantan laid a trap for them. Krrsantan eliminated the other three Trandoshans, leaving only Kootan and Noka alive. Kootan attempted to assassinate Krrsantan, but the Wookiee killed him.
Kootan was a member of a Trandoshan enslaver group in the service of the Xonti Brothers. Under the command of Noka, they traveled to Kashyyyk aboard a slave ship with the intention of capturing Wookiees for the [Xonti Brothers](/article/xonti_brothers]. Upon their arrival, Kootan voiced his eagerness to kill a Wookiee, but Noka reminded him of their mission. Noka expressed his concerns, noting that two slaving teams had already been lost to Wookiees in the past month alone. Noka then employed his scanner to pinpoint a Wookiee's location, and the five Trandoshans moved toward the scanner's signal.
The team located the Wookiee while it was sleeping, and Kootan and Noka approached it stealthily. Kootan discharged a stun blast, only to discover that the Wookiee had been left to bleed to death. Suddenly, one of the slavers was shot, and Kootan instructed the others to open [fire](/article/fire] as another slaver was quickly shot dead. The third slaver was quickly eliminated, leaving only Kootan and Noka. After seeking cover behind a tree, the pair realized that the dead Wookiee was a decoy, and Kootan made the decision to engage the attacker. Kootan exposed himself from behind cover, only to be knocked unconscious by the attacker, a black Wookiee known as Krrsantan. Krrsantan then hurled him into another tree, resulting in his immediate death.
Kootan was attired in green clothing featuring ammo patches across his torso. He wore armor plates that protected his chest, back, and shoulders, largely concealed by the cape he had on. Kootan also possessed a headset equipped with a small screen for his left eye, designed to aid in hunting. Kootan carried a sizable blaster suitable for sniping enemies.
