Plot Synopsis

It has been one year since the liberation of the Mon Calamari Orbital Shipyards. Ania Solo, the Imperial Knight Jao Assam, the Mon Calamari engineer Sauk, and the assassin droid AG-37 set out to locate and capture the renegade Sith Darth Wredd, who is leading an insurrection against the One Sith. Jao had a Force vision depicting Darth Wredd's attack on Empress Marasiah Fel, the leader of the new Galactic Federation Triumvirate, and he is resolved to thwart his scheme. While visiting Lasgo Port, Ania is abducted by her former lover Ramid, who then flees into hyperspace. Subsequently, Ania is pursued by a mysterious bounty hunter. This new adversary compels Ania and Ramid to reconcile and collaborate to ensure their survival.

On Coruscant, the Imperial Knight Master Yalta Val discovers additional evidence that clears Ania of the murder of Teemen Alton. He finds out that the actual murderer possessed a prosthetic hand, whereas Ania's hand is completely biological. On the inhospitable glass rain planet, Ania's companions Jao, Sauk, and AG-37 come across Ramid's wrecked starship, but they find no trace of her. Shortly afterward, a rain of glass shards begins, forcing Jao and Sauk to seek refuge inside AG-37's freighter. Due to his robotic structure, AG-37 is the only one capable of enduring the glass shards, so he scouts the surrounding area.

Seeking shelter from the glass storm under a speeder bike, Ania and Ramid make amends and forgive each other for the wrongs they have committed. Ramid absolves Ania for deserting him during their escape attempt from the Imperial labor camp located on Drash-so. Simultaneously, Ania forgives Ramid for his act of kidnapping her. During the storm, they are shielded by several giant beetles that consume the glass shards. Following the storm, they head to the planet's only settlement to find transportation off-world. Meanwhile, Jao and Sauk receive a hologram transmission from Master Val, who presents new and convincing evidence that exonerates Ania. At the same time, AG-37 notices Ania and Ramid traveling together on a speeder bike towards the settlement. AG-37 notifies Sauk and Jao, who then bring their freighter to the same location.

Upon reaching the settlement, Ania and Ramid discover that the bounty hunter has murdered all of the inhabitants. During an ensuing confrontation, the bounty hunter kills Ramid and tries to capture Ania. However, Jao intervenes and fends her off. Ania seizes the opportunity to flee outside the building, only to find herself caught in an acid rain storm. Desperate, she uses her jacket to cover her head and eyes.
