Legislature

Governmental organizations responsible for creating laws, and often responsible for choosing the Heads of State and/or Government, were known as Legislatures. A legislature might be known by various names, such as Council, High Council, Great Council, Congress, Ruling Council, Senate, or Parliament, depending on the specific government in question. Some examples of these legislative bodies include:

• The Bothan Council, which served as the legislature for both Bothawui and Bothan Space.
• The Chandrilan House, which acted as the legislature for Chandrila.
• The Council of Elders, functioning as the legislature of Cerea.
• The Council of Moffs, which was the de facto legislature for the Imperial Remnant.
