During the Yuuzhan Vong War and beyond, Markre Medjev was a Human male who served the Jedi Order as a Jedi Knight. After the Second Galactic Civil War concluded, he would later rise to the positions of Jedi Master and Chief Librarian.
Being Force-sensitive, Markre Medjev joined the burgeoning Jedi Order in the era of the New Republic. Medjev journeyed to Yavin 4, where he was accepted into the Jedi Praxeum and began his Jedi training as the Yuuzhan Vong initiated their campaign of terror across the galaxy. Once his fundamental education in the Force was complete, Medjev was sent to Bothawui to conduct extensive investigations into the alien invaders before reporting his findings to Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.
Medjev survived the ensuing conflict and participated in the war's final phases. While on Dac during the war's fourth year, Medjev convened with eleven other Jedi in Master Tresina Lobi's quarters to deliberate on various matters. Before the meeting, Medjev collaborated with Tresina and Master Cilghal to prepare sustenance for the Jedi. When the meeting commenced, Master Kenth Hamner informed everyone that Wraith Squadron operative Baljos Arnjak was present on Coruscant, and reported that The Prophet was also on the planet, despite having previously departed with Jedi Corran Horn and Tahiri Veila for the living planet of Zonama Sekot, where Master Skywalker and several other Jedi were situated. With communication to Zonama Sekot severed, and both Master Cilghal and Jaina Solo suspecting it had relocated, the only means to ascertain what transpired was to converse with the Prophet. Medjev proposed seeking assistance from General Wedge Antilles to infiltrate Coruscant, but Hamner countered that he did not wish to compel Antilles to deceive his superiors, and the Jedi decided to await word from Skywalker for one week before dispatching a strike team to apprehend the Prophet.
Before the week's end, Zonama Sekot materialized in orbit above Coruscant, prompting the Yuuzhan Vong to retreat from their attack on Dac. Subsequently, Medjev and the other Jedi were summoned to the living planet by Master Skywalker, and Medjev journeyed with over a dozen other Jedi aboard the Millennium Falcon to the world. Medjev and the others met with Master Skywalker, who enlightened them about the enigmatic planet. Medjev then participated in a ceremony where he bonded with two seed-partners, which could be shaped into a living ship for him to command. Fighting against the invaders to defend Sekot, Medjev and the Jedi triumphed as the Yuuzhan Vong menace was neutralized when their weapons and vessels reverted to their natural state within the planet's peculiar environment. Gathering with the remaining Jedi on the planet, Medjev attended the meeting that reunified the Order and cemented their position within the newly formed Galactic Alliance.
By 44 ABY, Medjev had achieved the rank of Jedi Master and finished his training to be a Jedi Lore Keeper. Appointed as Chief Librarian, Master Medjev superintended and safeguarded the Jedi Temple Archives on Coruscant. Medjev aided Jedi Knight Natua Wan in her duties within the Archives after she was assigned there following her recuperation from the mysterious Force psychosis. When Grand Master Skywalker contacted the Temple and requested Wan's assistance in researching Sith planets, Medjev personally informed the young Jedi Knight.
