Marl Jibs

title: Marl Jibs

During the Imperial Era, Marl Jibs was a human employed by the Galactic Empire. Once, while at a bar located on Hon-Tallos with his Twi'lek girlfriend, his girlfriend departed with someone who claimed to be Sana Starros, who was actually Chelli Lona Aphra. Some years passed, and between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, Jibs collaborated with Imperial officer Phel Starros with the goal of capturing his aunt Mevera Starros because she was working alongside the Soikans. Jibs, piloting a ship, intercepted Mevera in the Hosnian sector; she was accompanied by her niece Sana Starros and Thea Starros, who were trying to rescue Mevera's daughter Aryssha. Jibs insisted that they hand over Mevera, or they would face the consequences. When Sana attempted to delay Jibs to buy time, he mentioned their supposed previous encounter, but Sana told Jibs she had never visited Hon-Tallos before and it wasn't her who had left with his girlfriend. After Sana provided her relatives with sufficient time, they unveiled a new weapon mounted on their ship, known as the Vector Bundle, which they intended to use against Jibs and his ship. Jibs launched an attack, but his ship was crippled by an ion cannon that Mevera had acquired from the Soikans after they failed to pay her for freelance services. He was left stranded as the Vector Bundle headed towards the Dalnan sector.

Jibs was also involved in the Mission to Hon-Tallos, where he confronted Sana and demanded to know Mevera's location. Sana escaped on Nussi, and he pursued her on a speeder bike. Sana retaliated by attacking him with her rancor mount, which resulted in Jibs crashing into a wall. Later, Mevera received a holomessage from him, stating that he had kidnapped Thea and giving her 48 hours to surrender; otherwise, he would kill Thea.

Lompop inquired with her Soikan contacts and verified that they had not hired Jibs. The group then journeyed to Hynestia to confront him. Jibs held Thea at blasterpoint. Sana revealed to him that they were aware he was not a bounty hunter. He admitted that he was merely a distraction so that the Imperials could launch an attack and capture all the Starros. He escorted Thea back to a ship and transported her to the King's Ransom.
