Massacre near Teralov

The incident known as the Teralov massacre involved the complete annihilation of a rebel GR-75 medium transport and its escorting flight of A-wings, belonging to Green Squadron. These forces of the Rebel Alliance were on a mission to deliver vital supplies to the inhabitants of Teralov when they were ambushed by the Galactic Empire. An Arquitens-class command cruiser deployed three TIE interceptors, led by the infamous Captain Vult Skerris, who swiftly eliminated the rebel fighters. Despite the transport crew's attempt to surrender, Skerris callously ordered the vessel's destruction.

Prelude

The transport convoy near Teralov

Back in 2 BBY, the world of Teralov was gripped by a severe famine. In response, the Rebel Alliance made the decision to dispatch a supply transport to alleviate the suffering of Teralov's population. This transport was protected by a squadron of six A-wing starfighters drawn from the ranks of Green Squadron. The pilot of the transport received a hologram communication from a grateful woman, expressing her appreciation for the rebels' assistance.

The attack

Before the rebel convoy could advance any further, an Arquitens-class command cruiser materialized from hyperspace, unleashing three TIE interceptors that immediately engaged the rebel A-wings in a fierce dogfight. After completely decimating the A-wings, the TIE fighters proceeded to relentlessly attack the rebel transport, inflicting significant damage. The transport pilot desperately pleaded over the comms for the Imperials to show mercy, emphasizing that they were an unarmed relief vessel. However, the Imperial Captain Vult Skerris ignored their desperate appeals and unleashed a final, devastating barrage upon the transport's bridge, obliterating the ship and killing everyone on board.

Aftermath

The massacre helped convince Derek Klivian and Wedge Antilles to defect to the rebellion

The annihilation of the rebel convoy near Teralov represented a significant setback for the Rebel Alliance. Some rebels, such as Ezra Bridger, expressed concern that they were losing skilled pilots faster than they could be replaced. However, the brutal Imperial action deeply disturbed several Imperial cadets attending the prestigious Skystrike Academy, most notably Wedge Antilles, Derek "Hobbie" Klivian, and Rake Gahree. They made contact with a rebel operative known as Fulcrum, who relayed their situation to the Phoenix Cell. In response, Hera Syndulla dispatched Sabine Wren on a covert undercover mission to extract these disillusioned cadets.
