Biography

The Star Wars, Dark Horse's comic adaptation of George Lucas's 1974 rough draft for Star Wars, was illustrated by Mike Mayhew. He views this particular draft as a kind of Apocalypse Now take on the Star Wars story.

Additionally, Mayhew provided the pencils for issues fifteen and twentieth of Marvel Comics' 2015 Star Wars series, in addition to the one-shot Star Wars: The Last Jedi – The Storms of Crait 1. He created the cover art for the hardcover editions of the comic adaptations of the prequel trilogy, issue number two of the The Force Awakens miniseries, and Star Wars issues 33 through 37, as well as Annual 2.

Mayhew also contributed a variant cover for Star Wars (2015) 1, which takes inspiration from Rob Liefeld's cover for The New Mutants #98, as well as for the first and third issues of Star Wars: Lando. Furthermore, he created the Yesteryear Comics variant for the first issue of Marvel's Star Wars: Shattered Empire miniseries, and the Wizard/ComicConBox variant for the first issue of the Vader Down crossover.
