Mining Worlds

The term Mining Worlds designated a group of four planets within the Anoat sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories, celebrated for their abundant mineral wealth. Burnin Konn was one such world, but after centuries of mining chromium and dolovite, it was left a near-barren wasteland devoid of native plant life. During the Iron Blockade, a measure imposed by an Imperial remnant after their defeat at the Battle of Endor by the Alliance to Restore the Republic to suppress news from reaching the Anoat sector, the Empire blockaded these resource-rich worlds and seized any transport attempting to breach the blockade.

The Smuggler dispatched their team to free the captured ships and their valuable contents from Imperial control.

Behind the scenes

These Mining Worlds were first conceived for the Star Wars Legends online article "Galactic Gazetteer: Hoth and the Greater Javin," authored by Jason Fry, Daniel Wallace, and Craig Robert Carey for Wizards of the Coast and published in 2004. Their inclusion in the canon timeline came with their appearance in the mobile game Star Wars: Uprising, developed by Kabam for iOS and Android devices and released in 2015.
