The clandestine operation known as the Mission to Coruscant was undertaken by the Galactic Republic with the aim of dismantling a terrorist organization that had been causing problems for the GAR. A specialized strike force was assembled for this mission, consisting of clone commando units Delta and Omega Squad, along with Null ARCs Captain N-11 "Ordo" and Lieutenant N-7 "Mereel". The team also included Jedi Generals Bardan Jusik and Etain Tur-Mukan, as well as security consultant sergeant Kal Skirata and mercenary Walon Vau, a former commando instructor.
Skirata spearheaded the strike team, operating discreetly outside the standard military command structure. Working in tandem with the Coruscant Security Force, under the leadership of captain Jaller Obrim, they embarked on a mission to dismantle the network of terrorist connections. Skirata orchestrated an extended leave period on Coruscant for the clone troopers of the 41st Elite Corps to facilitate the team's covert operations. This allowed the commandos to blend in with the regular troopers, effectively concealing their presence, while also providing the seasoned troops of the 41st with a much-deserved respite. The team established their base of operations at Qibbu's Hut, an establishment managed by Qibbu the Hutt, who was indebted to Skirata. Qibbu granted the team free lodging in exchange for the cancellation of his debt to Skirata.
The team designated the top suite of Qibbu's Hut as their operational headquarters. Skirata deployed teams of two to monitor the skylanes for potential threats. One team, consisting of Fi, Sev, and Bardan Jusik, identified Vinna Jiss, a GAR logistics employee secretly collaborating with a Falleen Separatist terrorist, delivering explosives intended for attacks on Galactic Republic targets. The team apprehended her, and Jiss was subsequently interrogated by Walon Vau, who ultimately eliminated her after she divulged all the necessary information. Ordo deduced the presence of a mole within GAR logistics and assumed the identity of Trooper Corr, a clone trooper previously employed in the logistics department but sidelined due to the loss of both hands in combat.
Concurrently, Kal Skirata established a fictitious arms dealing operation at Qibbu's Hut, anticipating that the terrorists would seek to acquire additional explosives, given that their primary supplier had been neutralized by a TIOPS mission executed by Omega Squad. The terrorists fell for the ruse, and using Verpine sniper rifles and a unique micro-sensor tagging agent known as "Dust", the team successfully tagged the terrorist leader, Perrive, along with five other members of his network.
Meanwhile, while impersonating Corr, Ordo observed the deceased Vinna Jiss returning to work. The following day, with the assistance of Jedi Knight Tur-Mukan, they attempted to apprehend her for further questioning. During the attempt, Ordo shot the "resurrected" Jiss and also incapacitated Besany Wennen, a supervisor at GAR logistics. Both suspects survived the shooting. Upon returning to their makeshift base, they discovered that Wennen had been assigned to monitor Jiss, who was deemed an unreliable employee. The "resurrected" Jiss was revealed to be Jinart, a shape-shifting Gurlanin who had previously aided Omega Squad during a mission to Qiilura. Jinart demanded the withdrawal of Republic forces from her planet in exchange for providing information on the moles within the GAR. Armed with this new intelligence, coupled with the location of the terrorists' hideout (courtesy of Dust), Skirata determined that it was time to dismantle the Separatists' operation. Skirata arranged a meeting with Perrive to deliver the much-needed ordnance to the terrorists. Following the delivery of the explosives, the strike team would move in to shut down their terrorist operations. Everything was proceeding according to plan. Ordo and Mereel successfully eliminated one of the two moles within the GAR (the other met with an "unfortunate" accident), and the team was fully prepared for the operation. However, the mission was forced to commence prematurely when CSF personnel apprehended one of Perrive's men, triggering panic among the terrorists. Perrive requested that Skirata expedite the delivery by 24 hours, to which the Mandalorian mercenary agreed. Before concluding his conversation with Skirata, Perrive informed him that he would not be present for the delivery. Upon the conclusion of the conversation (via comlink), Skirata informed the team that their mission was a go.
While Skirata, Ordo, Mereel, and the two commando squads assumed their positions, Etain and Walon Vau, accompanied by Vau's pet Strill Lord Mirdalan, were dispatched to assassinate Perrive. Employing one of Skirata's Verpine sniper rifles, Vau swiftly and silently eliminated the Jabiimi terrorist.
Meanwhile, Skirata successfully completed his delivery without incident, and the commandos launched their attack, disabling the lights with two PLX-1 missile launchers. The team neutralized fifteen out of twenty-six terrorists almost instantly, while the remaining survivors retreated to a warehouse. During the ensuing firefight, one of the terrorists managed to escape back to his apartment. The surviving Separatists made a final, desperate attempt to deceive the commandos into believing they were surrendering. One of the commandos, Darman, was nearly killed in their attempt by a flamethrower, but his armor provided adequate protection against the blast. During the firefight, all of the terrorists were killed.
Concurrently, Vau and Etain dealt with the last terrorist who had fled back to his apartment, and the CSF initiated the roundup of approximately 90 suspected terrorists. The commandos, relatively unscathed, retreated back to their "base", where they celebrated their victory. The Separatist terrorist network would never fully recover from the devastating blow inflicted by the commandos.
Initially, the mission was situated 12 months after the Battle of Geonosis, but The Essential Reader's Companion subsequently adjusted the timeline of Republic Commando: Triple Zero to 22 BBY to align with Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
