Neutralizer gas

Neutralizer gas was a dense, white-hued gas considered largely harmless to humans. Its purpose was to extinguish chemical fires and to turn toxic gases into a liquid state. The Distillery belonging to the Galactic Empire located on the planet of Coyerti had vents containing neutralizer gas, which were activated when a rebel squad triggered a chemical container within the facility during 3 ABY. Consequently, the four soldiers of the squad experienced reduced visibility as they entered the mostly deserted Distillery to set up explosives.

Descriptors

Neutralizer gas was a heavy, white gas intended for suppressing chemical fires and for liquefying poisonous gases to facilitate their disposal. It posed minimal risk to humans, provided they avoided inhaling a significant lungful of it.

History

Brand (pictured) was familiar with neutralizer gas.

During the Imperial Era under the rule of the Galactic Empire, an Imperial Distillery dedicated to the production of bioweapons on the planet Coyerti in the Mid Rim region, was equipped with a neutralizer gas ventilation system. In 3 ABY, the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry initiated the Coyerti campaign and dispatched a squad of four soldiers led by First Sergeant Hazram Namir to attack and destroy the Distillery. As part of this attack, the rebel soldier Brand infiltrated the facility, placing a microdetonator on a container of toxins to serve as a diversion.

Upon the detonator's activation, neutralizer gas was deployed to neutralize any released toxins while the personnel evacuated. Having prior knowledge of the gas, Brand briefed her squadmates about the neutralizer gas, and the four soldiers, equipped with gas masks, proceeded into the Distillery to set timed explosives. The gas impaired the squad's vision, and any flames produced when firing at remaining Imperial forces were quickly extinguished. Ultimately, the explosives destroyed the Distillery.
