It commenced following the invasion of Mon Cala, which was triggered by Mon Calamari King Lee-Char's instigation of conflict on Mon Cala. While this occupation was underway, Ardo Barodai was employed as a bartender, secretly gathering information from Imperial officers and relaying it to the rebellion. Also during this time, Darth Vader himself gave the order for the torture and imprisonment of both Mon Calamari and Quarren. This information was later conveyed to Vader's daughter Leia Organa by General Nossor Ri when she sought King [Ech-Char](/article/ech-char]'s assistance in providing ships to the Resistance in 34 ABY.
Ultimately, the Mon Calamari and Quarren united, successfully dismantling the Imperial garrison and bringing an end to the occupation.
