Oka-wood represented a specific variety of wood utilized in the construction of bartops. During the rebellion that took place on the Outer Rim planet of Akiva in 4 ABY, the cantina known as Pok's Place, located in Myrra, the capital city of Akiva, featured a bartop crafted from this material. In that year, Sinjir Rath Velus, a former Imperial loyalty officer, made a visit to the cantina and observed Pok, the Mon Calamari bartender of the establishment, sliding drinks across the oka-wood surface of the bartop.
The presence of oka-wood was established within Aftermath, a novel published in 2015 and authored by Chuck Wendig; it served as the initial book in the Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.
