OOM-10

OOM-10, a B1-series battle droid, underwent reprogramming and subsequently served the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. During the mission that took place on the planet Lola Sayu, OOM-10 functioned as the second-ranking officer within R2-D2's battle droid squadron.

Biography

Originally manufactured for the Confederacy of Independent Systems as a B1-series battle droid, the Galactic Republic seized and reprogrammed this unit to follow the commands of astromech droid R2-D2.

OOM-10 fools another droid into turning over his prisoners

Alongside two other reprogrammed battle droids, OOM-10 aided Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, as well as a clone trooper squadron, in infiltrating the isolated Separatist prison known as the Citadel, deemed "impenetrable," with the objective to rescue Jedi Master Even Piell. Upon landing on the planet where the Citadel was situated, OOM-10 remained behind with R2 and the other two droids. When Anakin Skywalker instructed R2 to retrieve them from a specific Citadel location, OOM-10, R2, and the other two droids piloted the ship to the designated meeting point. However, instead of the expected team, K2-B4, the tactical droid stationed at the Citadel, arrived. Consequently, OOM-10 and the droids pretended that R2 was their prisoner, being escorted for interrogation. Once they were out of immediate danger, R2 deduced that Obi-Wan Kenobi and his team were walking into an ambush.

OOM-10's assessment proved correct, as Kenobi and his team were indeed captured. However, while they were being escorted to the interrogation chamber, OOM-10 successfully persuaded the security droids guarding them to release the prisoners into their custody. Subsequently, they swiftly transported Kenobi's team back to the waiting ship outside, where they reunited with Skywalker's team. Nevertheless, OOM-10's reprogramming had been discovered by the Separatists, and a contingent of battle droids, droid commandos equipped with energy shields, and two crab droids rushed outside to confront the team. During the ensuing firefight, ARC trooper Echo was seemingly killed. OOM-10 and the surviving team members managed to retreat to the caves beneath the Citadel, where they awaited the arrival of Republic forces summoned by Kenobi. However, while en route to the extraction point, they were ambushed by approaching battle droids. R2 then instructed the droids to delay the enemy while the team made their escape. Ultimately, although the team successfully escaped with only two casualties, the entire battle droid team, including OOM-10, was destroyed.
