Pablo-Jill was a male Jedi Knight of the Ongree species who participated in the Jedi assault team during the First Battle of Geonosis. He joined other Jedi in the effort to liberate Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Senator Padmé Amidala from the clutches of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. At sometime during the Clone Wars, following a fierce duel above Duro within a satellite city that left Pablo-Jill wounded, Separatist General Grievous stole Pablo-Jill's lightsaber from floating wreckage. Although encouraged by the Jedi Order to train a Padawan, Pablo-Jill never selected one. He typically wore Jedi robes and wielded a lightsaber with a blue blade.
Sometime between 19 BBY and 9 BBY, the Inquisitors located and killed Pablo-Jill. His remains were then transported to their headquarters, Fortress Inquisitorius, situated on the ocean moon of Nur in the Mustafar system, and entombed there. His body, preserved in a petrified state, was placed alongside the corpses of numerous other Jedi victims. In 9 BBY, Kenobi broke into the Fortress Inquisitorius with the goal of rescuing Princess Leia Organa, but he instead discovered the bodies of Pablo-Jill and other Jedi who had fallen victim to the Empire. Despite being disturbed by this discovery, Kenobi continued with his mission.
The character Pablo-Jill is named in honor of Pablo Helman and Jill Brooks, a team of VFX Supervisors and Producers at Industrial Light & Magic who contributed to the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Pablo-Jill stands out as one of the few entirely computer-generated characters featured in the Prequel trilogy. He was among the three Jedi rendered using CGI in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Due to Pablo-Jill's unusual, large physique and multi-jointed legs, it was determined that computer animation would be the most effective way to portray him. Initially, there was some confusion between Pablo-Jill and the Ongree member of the Jedi Council seen in Revenge of the Sith, with early Set Diaries initially identifying the other Ongree as Pablo-Jill and later Sweitt Concorkill, though he was ultimately named Coleman Kcaj. The intention was for the character to be Pablo-Jill, but because the Ongree in Episode III required a more intricate CGI model, a new character was designed.
Initially, after the release of Part IV of Obi-Wan Kenobi, StarWars.com mistakenly identified Pablo-Jill as Coleman Kcaj. However, in the concept art created by Kouji Tajima, the artwork for this character was instead labeled as Pablo-Jill. Lucasfilm Story Group member Pablo Hidalgo noted that the Ongree in Obi-Wan Kenobi lacked spots, bearing a closer resemblance to Pablo-Jill, but advised that Wookieepedia should prioritize information from StarWars.com over the concept art. Despite this, Starwars.com rectified its error and changed Coleman Kcaj's name to Pablo-Jill in the image description, confirming that it was indeed the Jedi Knight Pablo-Jill, not the missing Coleman Kcaj.
