Pegla

Pegla, a male human, held the position of sentry for Zorby at Zorby's Western Shiplot on the planet Ferrix during the Galactic Empire's reign. Occasionally, he engaged in deals and traded favors with his acquaintance Cassian Andor, permitting him to utilize one of the lot's ships overnight in 5 BBY. The subsequent day, upon discovering Andor replacing the ship's ID chip log, he instructed him to depart and not return, declining Andor's request to borrow the ship once more.

Biography

Master of hounds

Pegla worked as a sentry at a starship lot on the planet Ferrix.

Serving as a sentry at Zorby's Western Shiplot on Ferrix, Pegla was a male human. Functioning as the unofficial security chief, he safeguarded docked vessels with a team of trained Corellian junkyard hounds. These hounds deterred trespassers, although Pegla occasionally turned a blind eye when Cassian Andor, a friend with whom he bartered and exchanged favors, stealthily entered the yard.

In 5 BBY, he granted Andor permission to borrow a Breon Dayvan from the lot for the night. Unbeknownst to Pegla, Andor then piloted the vessel to Morlana One in search of his sister, Kerri, but ultimately killed two Preox-Morlana sentries, necessitating a hasty escape. The following day, Pegla led two Corellian hounds on leashes onto the lot, guiding the security animals to a pair of bones, halting so they could commence gnawing.

While the hounds were eating, Pegla detected metallic clattering and glanced up, observing the vessel that Andor had borrowed returned to the lot with the cabin door ajar. Cautiously glancing over his shoulder, the sentry approached the ship, displeased to find Andor inside working on it. Again, glancing back cautiously towards the building where his employer, Zorby, was working, Pegla confronted Andor, who was not supposed to be there while Zorby was in the office. Claiming he had forgotten something, Andor stated that he had refueled the vessel as asked and was almost finished, but Pegla noticed that Andor was swapping the ship's ID chip log for a blank one.

No more deals or favors

Pegla told Cassian Andor not to return to the starship lot.

Subsequently, Zorby contacted Pegla via the lot's PA system to inquire about the situation, and Pegla responded using his comlink, deceiving his boss by claiming that rats had reappeared in the yard. Given the presence of a customer out front, Zorby instructed Pegla to task the hounds with addressing the situation and earning their keep.

With the exchange with Zorby concluded, Pegla began questioning Andor about the chip log, concerned that it would implicate them both. Andor asserted that he had disliked the ship's performance the previous night and was returning it in better condition than he had found it, but Pegla doubted that Andor was doing him a favor. When Andor, intending to flee Ferrix due to the murders he had committed, requested to borrow the ship again, Pegla refused and instructed him to complete his work, depart, and never return. Andor attempted to argue as Pegla walked away, but the sentry stated that he preferred to remain ignorant of the situation and that their deals and favors were over. He then summoned the hounds with a whistle and departed. Later that evening, as the local Time Grappler signaled the end of the day, Pegla released the hounds to roam the lot and deactivated the rows of lights throughout the yard.

Personality and traits

Pegla was tired of Andor's habit of getting into trouble.

A disheveled and irritable individual, Pegla's patience with his friend Cassian's escapades finally reached its limit, as he grew weary of dealing with what he termed the "Cassian way" and remained unconvinced that Andor was being truthful and doing him a favor. Anxious about potential repercussions, he instructed Andor to leave permanently. Pegla possessed light skin, brown eyes, and graying black hair.

Equipment

Pegla donned a green duster coat accompanied by a brown satchel bag and belt. He also sported a brown aviator cap with goggles and black boots, utilizing a pocket comlink to communicate with Zorby.
