Piryn Shar sector

The Piryn Shar sector, a region found in the Expansion Region, encompassed the Natalon, Noe'ha'on, and Ohratuu systems. The Great Gran Run hyperlane coursed through the Natalon and Noe'ha'on systems. Within the Ohratuu system was a planet bearing the same name. The Natalon system, conversely, served as the point of origin for the Natalon Core Bandits. Noe'ha'on, characterized as a jungle planet, was inhabited by the sentient Noehons and the predatory k'lor'slug species. The space surrounding Noe'ha'on underwent exploration from 1000 BBY to 25 BBY, though visits from off-worlders occurred thousands of years prior. Imperial Military forces, along with those of the extragalactic Nagai and Tof species, traversed the Piryn Shar sector during 17 BBY and 4 ABY, respectively. Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, Rebel Alliance general Reesen Jivrak formerly of the Rebel Alliance, established a base on Ohratuu.

Description

As a component of the Expansion Region, the Piryn Shar sector shared a border with the Vensensor sector spinward by 0 ABY. It also formed a quadripoint with the Har Worlds, the Trans-Jardeen sector, and the Vatha sector Coreward. The Piryn Shar sector, alongside the Har Worlds and the Vatha sector, defined the Rimward edge of the Expansion Region, bordering the Oriolan, Sombure, and Wornal sectors of the Mid Rim.

Contained within the Piryn Shar sector were the Natalon, Noe'ha'on, and Ohratuu systems. The hyperlane called the Great Gran Run connected the Vatha sector to the Har Worlds, running through the Natalon and Noe'ha'on systems.

History

During the Western Reaches Operation in 17 BBY, Galactic Empire military forces used the Piryn Shar sector's Great Gran Run segment before the battle in the Halm system of the Mid Rim. Similarly, the extragalactic Nagai and Tof species forces, engaged in separate invasions of the galaxy in 4 ABY, utilized the Piryn Shar sector's portion of the hyperspace route while advancing Coreward.

Locations

The Natalon and Ohratuu systems

The Natalon Core Bandits originated in the Natalon system. The Human smuggler Han Solo participated in a shootout there between 14 BBY and 0 BBY.

The planet Ohratuu, of the same name, was located in the Ohratuu system. It served as the homeworld for the deripors, a docile, land-based herd species. Rebel Alliance general Reesen Jivrak and his followers established a base on Ohratuu sometime between 3 ABY and 4 ABY. Jivrak used deripors enhanced with strength-increasing and aggression-heightening toxins for hit-and-run attacks.

Noe'ha'on

Noe'ha'on, a [jungle](/article/jungle-legends] world, resided in its namesake system. It was the native world of the k'lor'slug, an aggressive, worm-like swamp predator that became a pest species off-world. The Noehons, a sentient, arboreal insectoid species, also inhabited Noe'ha'on.

Between 1000 BBY and 25 BBY, the space surrounding Noe'ha'on was explored, though paleontologist expeditions had visited by 3630 BBY. During the Clone Wars from 22 BBY to 19 BBY, Noe'ha'on was part of the Galactic Republic. The Republic Military's Nineteenth Army defended the system's vicinity against Confederacy of Independent Systems military forces during the conflict's early stages. Between 19 BBY and 17 BBY, the Galactic Empire incorporated Noe'ha'on into its territory.
