R8-26

R8, also known as R8-26, was an astromech droid of the R-series who was in service to the New Republic as of 5 ABY, acting as assistant to Ambassador Nadura. Nadura took R8 with her on a journey to Corvus, which was Nadura's homeworld, with the intention of bringing them into the new government. R8 remained on the ship as Nadura and her security team went into the city of Calodan. Nevertheless, Morgan Elsbeth, the magistrate in charge, declined and used force, causing Nadura to escape and instruct R8 to transmit a distress signal. Before R8 could successfully contact anyone, Elsbeth's forces detonated the ship, resulting in R8's destruction.
